Zee Kanani Polls

Well obviously I kind of haven't done the Christmas prezzies post yet of the two dolls my sister and I received... sorry! We are still away, so it is difficult to motivate myself while on vacation. ;-) Also, I have spent too much time going onto AG Playthings and looking at the newest news and not blogging. Heehee.

American Girl has released new historical outfits and some new MyAG stuff as of this week. Kanani's collection has appeared in catalogs already. And AG will have 25th Birthday mini dolls in holiday outfits. Also there will be a 25th Birthday AG Cruise at Thanksgiving time in 2011. Don't know about you guys, but we kind of have to be at Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving....hhrrmmpphh. So we won't be going on that. Especially since we are going to Florida a couple weeks before that. Oh well. C'est la vie.

So if you want to see pics and know more info about the above schtuff, AG Playthings has the scoop as well as some of the blogs we list in the sidebar below. We don't have pics here for y'all. :-(

But we do have polls! We actually like Kanani and most of her collection-- despite the obvious appearances of pink here and there. But we want to know what you guys think.... so we have two polls in the sidebar. The first is for your fav Kanani item and the second is for your Kanani dolly plans. Feel free to vote! We'd love to know what you guys think. And feel free to comment as well!

We personally plan on getting her entire collection before 2011 is up. But that Shave Ice Stand really can't stay pink like that... it will have to undergo some modificiations. And we are even thinking of getting an extra Kanani doll to customize, maybe with different color eyes and a different wig... but that will come later...

But on the immediate buy list is that doggy! Yay, he is awesome! He looks just like our old doggy who passed away in 2006. :'-( It will be cool to have an AG version of him.

So what do you guys think? Is Kanani a win or a meh? Are you planning on getting anything from her collection?

Crazy Christmas Tradition

Merry Christmas! (One day late...) So these pics below are not dolly-related, but we will put it on the main page because it is holiday-ish. ;-)

Sorry we haven't been posting much-- with holiday traveling and family activities, we ran out of blogging time. But, in case you have been living under a rock (wink wink), leaked photos of Kanani, her schtuff, and some new 2011 historical schtuff is available through Youtube videos. We didn't post about them here, just to be safe (don't want to get in trouble). Although AG probably leaked its own pictures to create some buzz, haha. That way people see all this cool new stuff before Christmas and they know to save their gift money for AG stuff in 2011. Just a theory though....

It was nice to see Kanani and some of her things. We are excited to buy her. She looks very pretty and unique. Is anyone else planning on getting her?

Okay, now on to the Crazy Christmas Tradition 2010. This year for the tiny animals diorama we made "A Christmas Story"--- that silly movie with Ralphie, a BB gun, and a leg lamp. If you haven't seen it, we highly recommend a viewing. It is a classic Christmas film.

So here are some pictures of our diorama...Initially we'll show you some highlights and then we'll put in some slideshows below those...First: a complete shot of the countertop... it starts with Randy stuck in the snow in his snowsuit on the far left, Flick stuck to the flagpole, the shopping district and toy section of the department store, Santa's mountain in the department store, Ralphie's house, and then the Chinese restaurant where they have Christmas dinner...

Highlight: Randy stuck in the snow...

Highlight: Flick stuck to the flagpole... (he puts his tongue on a metal surface in the cold on a triple-dog dare--- a bad idea)...

Highlight: Ralphie in his pink bunny suit--- a gift from a relative...

On the box below the counter is the scene where "The Old Man" changes the car tire and Ralphie helps him (it ends badly)...

Outside of the Higbee's Department store, the prized BB gun in the window, inside of the Department store toy section, cashier and customers, Santa's Mountain, and Ralphie waiting to see Santa...

Ralphie's House, the Bumpus Hounds gathering to eat the Christmas turkey, Ralphie in the bunny suit, the Old Man opening his leg lamp prize, Ma in the kitchen preparing Christmas dinner...

The Chinese Restaurant, Chop Suey Palace Co., where they go for Christmas dinner after the Bumpus Hounds eat their turkey...

Hope you liked our Christmas diorama pictures! You can look forward to another post right around the corner of some little dollies that my sister and I got for Christmas! Oooo, exciting!

Winter Project Idea 2.0 and More Stuff

Okay, we couldn't fit everybody into the pics in the last Winter Project post... so here are the final two iron-on project tees that we made. Kaya is wearing the heart iron-on and Elizabeth is modeling the rhinestone iron-on. The white gathered sleeve tees are from the Liberty Jane online store. Ignore the shiny spots on Kaya's tee-- it was like the owl iron-on and reflected a lot of the flash. Again, you can make white tees from the trendy tee free pattern pretty easily. Penny's Mom has made several of them from old tees. So you don't necessarily need to buy the tees from LJ if you don't have the $$.

Kaya is wearing a Liberty Jane mini skirt and she is posing with her new Brianna doll I got her for Christmas. In her slideshow you can see the back of the Ty box and the other L'il Ones available. They are usually less than $6 on Amazon.

Sun Ji joined the group to show off her uber-trendy jean dress from Liberty Jane. Anybody remember which outfit this is from? Heehee... Her fancy knitted scarf and awesome sheer leggings are from Etsy seller SuzyMStudio.

Elizabeth is shown with a black beret from Etsy seller SewCrazyArmyWife and the polka dot bubble skirt from one of the Liberty Jane outfits... remember which one??? And next to her feet is a doggie and carrier bag that we found in the airport. We just love the holiday theme of this quilted bag. So cute!

If you want to learn how we did these iron-ons check out yesterday's post. It really just involves a hot, hot iron and some tissue paper. Oh and we pressed down on each side multiple times because we were nervous about things sticking well. We probably over-ironed them. But eh, it seemed to have worked...

Enjoy zee pics!

Holiday Hint: Larf2009 Coat Ebay Auction

Winter Project Idea and Lots of Stuff

Hola! Okay so this is a big post... it was going to be even bigger but we decided to only show you 3 dolls at a time to make it easier...

Need a fun activity to do for your dolls this Winter Break? When watched this Liberty Jane Youtube Channel video...

...we thought.... huh, maybe we can do our own iron-on project? So we decided we really don't trust ourselves to print our own iron-ons and have them turn out well... but we thought about craft store iron-ons as a possibility. We ordered five white gathered sleeve tee shirts from the Liberty Jane online store and went to Joann's to check out what they had for us. We found a heart, an owl, doggies, and rhinestones as starters for our experiment. And lucky for us when we ordered a backpack from Etsy seller MediumControl they sent us a small Watson the Cat iron-on which we decided could also go on a tee.

We can't say they are perfect iron-on tees (as this was the first time we tried it)-- but we followed Cinnamon's instructions and we think they came out pretty well. We put the iron on whichever setting recommended by the iron-on itself-- look at zee packaging for instructions.

So we dressed up in three of the tees for this photo-shoot. The owl tee is a bit shiny with the flash, so ignore those shiny spots. To make your life easier, we are going to list what you see, from left to right on each doll in the pictures below...

Stella Grant (MyAG #25), my stepsister, preparing to hang our stockings over the fireplace:
Light purple slouchy hat from Etsy seller StassyDodge (awesome!)
White LJ tee with brown doggie iron-on from Joann's
Purple skirt from LJ outfit (can you figure out which one? heehee)
Cool Christmas stocking we found in some museum store, somewhere once upon a time...
MyAG meet shoes

Ellie Demington (MyAG #21), my sister in pjs, sneaking downstairs at night to steal Santa's cookies:
Gray hooded scarf from Etsy seller SuzyMStudio
White LJ tee with owl iron-on from Joann's
Gray sweatpants from Etsy seller 123MulberryStreet
Fuzzy white slippers and awesome blanket from All Dolled Up Doll Clothing

Nora Demington (me!), getting ready to wrap some prezzies:
Multi-colored hat and scarf set from Etsy seller StassyDodge (also awesome!)
White LJ tee with cat iron-on from Etsy seller MediumControl
Black pleated skirt and purple leggings from Dynamite Threads
Green boots (available at LJ online store)
Ty L'il Ones Brianna doll (an Xmas gift which I found in the airport for my friend Kaya )

Fantastic, no? We highly recommend having some iron-on fun this Winter Break-- perhaps make a trendy white tee from the free LJ pattern or buy a gathered sleeve tee from LJ. You can print out iron-ons on special transfer paper or buy them in craft stores.

Check out the many pictures below...

Next up is a post on the other two iron-on tees!

Gia in Several Ensembles

Us again! Here is Gia in a lot of stuff since we finally processed a bunch of pictures....

First here she is in the AG Berry Hoodie that we will give away in 2011 (that we bought on Cyber Monday)...

Second here she is in a purple dress from Etsy seller ArdentlyAdmire (it is based on a Heritage Doll Fashions pattern marketed by Liberty Jane Patterns).... it is a dress for AG dolls, but for KKs it works better as a tunic top. So we put the dress with the Maiden Flight KK jeans and a belt from Liberty Jane to create a unique look...

FYI- Ardently Admire has already sold 16 of these dresses in purple, blue, green and red--- they are very popular!

Next we have a really cute red plaid shirt from Ebay seller larf2009 with the KK jeans... made for AG dolls, but over the Maiden Flight black tank top it looks pretty good...

And finally the plaid shirt with its matching skirt from larf2009... we love this set on AGs and on KKs--- plus we got it for less than $12.00 !!!....

More posts to come right around the corner....

Gia and 123MulberryStreet Set

Hola! Christmas is getting closer and closer, which means exciting holiday gifts for many of you (be sure to check out yesterday's hints 6.0). Of course nearing the end of December also means that January 1st is getting closer and closer, too. These book covers of Kanani just aren't enough--- American Girl should really give us some teaser doll pictures so we don't have to hunt them down ourselves like the crazies we all are. Like a shot of a foot, like we saw with Lanie... or maybe an image of her pet... or a hand... or her shoulder with some hair. There would still be a Jan. 1st surprise.... but we would be less desperate. Haha.

Anyways, we are enjoying our time with our new Gia and we wanted to share some more pics of her. Today she is wearing the Maiden Flight KK jeans, the AG shirt from the Wilderness Outfit, and a wintry set from Etsy seller 123MulberryStreet. It came with this awesome hooded vest with feathery/furry trim around the hood, and the knit hat with ear flaps and tassels. It is an AG-sized set, but we think it still looks lovely on Gia. The hat fits perfectly and it is always good for outerwear to be a little roomy so you can fit duds underneath it. ;-)

Here are many pictures of Gia in her ensemble with Mr. Snuggles....

And keep voting in our poll to help us determine who will be the next Karito Kid to come to Badger's Wood!
