Argos and AG's Sporty Winter Outfit

Sorry we've been asleep at the wheel for a couple days - trying to catch up on stuff we have been ignoring. :-/

Today Maple models the AG Sporty Winter Outfit while Marie-Grace's dog, Argos, stands by her side. She received both of these items for Christmas (like Cecile's parrot set, which we showed you in the previous post).

In some of these shots the vest looks hot pink - it's not - it is red. Sorry about that - weird things happen when trying to take photos at dusk outside.

The outfit comes with the (Ugg-like) boots, headband, leggings/pants, vest, and shirt. It is a useful set that has a lot of mix and match potential - making it work as a warmer or cooler weather outfit depending on what types of pieces you add/subtract.

While the Innerstar U symbol is there on the vest, we can accept that - we don't mind it. We are especially happy with the "quilting" detail of the vest, and the fact that nothing has embroidered words all over it like "Live, love, happy," and AG somehow resisted the urge to embroider a swirling star motif on it somewhere. ;-)

The dog comes just with the dog. Haha. But as you can tell, he is quite big, which is nice. He is a Bouvier des Flandres, and looks a little wild with his crazy fur all over the place and his pink tongue hanging out. Which is also nice. While Maple renamed her parrot, she is happy with the name Argos since it has a much more impressive pedigree than Cochon did. (Argos is famous as Odysseus's faithful dog in Homer's "The Odyssey" who refuses to kick the bucket until his master returns from da war.)

Oh and here is a bonus one that serves as a photography lesson for y'alls. Don't take photos with raking light that will cast your doll's face half in darkness and half in total brightness like we did here for an experimental shot. Unless that is what you are going for, haha.

Maple's (Cecile's) Parrot Set

The Week of Maple starts today -- so we'll try and do a couple more posts

with her before the week is over, haha.

Yep, Maple was very insistent that she get that parrot set that was released for Cecile last year. She received it around Christmas from her adoring minions (family members).

When we took these photos (around Christmastime) Maple decided she would show off her workspace - a human-sized desk/office where she has gathered some of her favorite piratey items. (This was before her new Laboratory idea.)

"How can I be a good pirate without a parrot?" she had asked.

So here she is dressed as a pirate, wearing Felicity's hat and jacket, Lemieux Doll Boutique jeggings - and with her parrot by her side. A very trendy look for the runaway this season. ;-)

We took these photos before we bought two completely awesome pirate outfits from See Joan Sew's Beds N Blankies site, see her ultra-beautiful pics below (not our pics):

(We have yet to take pics of these sets - even though we received them awhile ago - where does time go so quickly??? That actually gives us an idea for a new Pinterest board for our account.... Hmmmm)

For this photo shoot, Maple was pretty satisfied with the set up and her outfit. She was also very happy with her new parrot. Cecile calls him Cochon, which means pig. It is also kind of an insult - so we're not sure why she calls him that. Why would you call your parrot a bad name as his actual name? Maybe somebody who read all the books can tell us?

Anyway, Maple wasn't about to follow in Cecile footsteps. She named her parrot Capitán Sílex. I think she specifically named it something with accents because she knows I hate taking the time to insert accented letters into these posts. :-/

Maple says people "in the know" will get why she named her pet parrot Capitán Sílex. I don't get it. But it does sound very piratey and simultaneously posh, so I'll play along.

The set comes with the parrot, cage, newspaper, magnifying glass, paper dolls, and school/tutoring book. All very useful things for Maple - she likes to play with old-fashioned objects and carry out various types of quests, hunts, and investigations. :-)

In Which We Expand to Pinterest

Yep, we started using Pinterest. We are still trying to figure it out though, so be patient with us if you are following us already.

If you aren't following us - there is the link. And if you don't have a Pinterest account yet (and you want one, haha) - let us know and we will invite you to join. :-)

So far we have five "boards" on our account.

1) Blog Activity - Here we pin links to our blog posts, starting with the AGPLA video post from February 29th, 2012.

2) Great Etsy Items - We pin wonderful doll-sized Etsy items that we find. We used to do a bunch of them on Facebook everyday, but that was probably annoying. So we'll only do a few Etsy finds a day on Facebook - in their own photo album now, fyi. And we'll post more Etsy finds on Pinterest. That way they are less annoying and easier to find.

3) Trends to Sew - Here we'll be posting human items that we will discuss or have already discussed in our "Trends to Sew" blog posts. We'll also link to those posts on that board once we get more organized. Right now some O'Neill items are sitting there - they serve as a teaser for our upcoming March post on this topic. :-)

4) Exciting Patterns - When we stumble upon a doll-sized pattern that looks intriguing, we'll pin it to this board. We already have several up. Everyone knows Liberty Jane offers a lot of cool patterns - but there are more "hidden" places to find them, including Etsy!

If you know of patterns that you'd like us to shout-out on Pinterest, feel free to comment about them below. :-)

5) Doll-Sized Craft Project Ideas - We just started this board when we found an idea for making mini boxes out of the paint chips you get at Home Depot/Lowe's. If we find more DIY doll-sized projects - we'll add them to this board.

Again, if you have places that you find doll-sized craft project ideas - let us know and we'll "pin" them on this board.
