We decided to take Marie-Grace's pincurls off a long time ago.
Like when we ordered her last week. ;-P
We also decided to do it while most of her hair was out of the way in those braids.
We had read on AG Playthings that some people just pulled them off. So we tried that. We separated them out to individual curls, then wrapped each one around our finger and yanked downward very hard. The glue gave away on each one in turn and she is now pincurl-less.
In some sections the wig loosened a tiny bit as we yanked the pincurls off it, but it survived the assault. The pincurls seem to be glued to her skin and then the wig put on over them. So the pincurls are not stitched into the wig cap as far as we can tell.
TIP: If you want to see any of our pics larger, just click on a photo and you will be brought to a Blogger slideshow of all the pics in a post.
The aftermath...
"What just happened?"
This was an out-patient procedure without anesthesia, so she was a little stunned.
Then we took out her braids.
Result: A girl's worse nightmare.
We smoothed her hair back for this shot below.
Her hair is going to need some work. It would be fine if it was a nice wave, but the braids have just put a whole bunch of messy kinks in her hair.
Let us know if you have any questions!
Stay tuned for Part Three!

She looks SO SO SO much better without the pincurls. Now I wish I had her!
How are you planning on getting the kinks out? Can you do a post of that? I have a doll with kinks, and warm water didn't work all that well the way I tried it.
If you could do a post on that, that would be just lovely.
