Saige's Parade Outfit and Riding Helmet

Hola! Sorry for the lack of posts peeples.

We were going to do Periwinkle in the Sweater Outfit in the 3 Saige boots,
but we'll do that next time.

For today we'll show you Saige in her Parade Outfit.
With a side of Peri for comparison porpoises.

DW Top Tip: Click on any of the images to see them larger in a slideshow.

Saige is wearing the Parade Outfit shirt, pants, and boots.
Periwinkle is wearing the belt.

We refuse to put the belt on with the Parade Outfit and tuck the shirt in. Ain't happening.
To us, that is a fashion no-no. Fine for anyone who wants to do it.
But we ainst doing it.

The shirt is cut awkwardly. But the print is nice.
We would have made it a tunic-length shirt and then put the belt on over it.

It has a velcro closure down the front.
Minimizing layering potential.

There is a "V" of clear sequins on it that you can't really see.
They run from the shoulders down to the front of the shirt and meet at the first "button."
The "buttons" are not buttons -- just little shiny magenta tacks/studs.

The pants are light blue skinny jeans that fit well under the boots.
Meant to be riding pants essentially.
Which in general are popular today for street fashion.

These pants make our Saige look like she has a wonky hip.
And maybe she does.
The cut of the shirt isn't helping.

The color is very 80s to us.
But the 80s are in and light blue jeans are too.
So we are trying to accept them as 'trendy.'
But mostly we just see the color as "Mom Jeans."

The boots are really nice.
Not for those who don't like embroidery though.

They are a gunmetal grey with floral accents on the sides.

Not really the boots we would have chosen to put with this shirt and pants combo.
Designed more to go with the Sweater Outfit really.

But you can see they are trying to do a hot pink, red and orange theme
for Saige's clothing.
So in theory, everything should kinda go together....

Trying to hide her wonky hip-ness.....

Saige modeling the Riding Helmet.
It is kinda ruining her hairstyle...

Overall Thoughts:

The Parade Outfit --- $34 for a 4-piece outfit.
We are glad we bought it.
The boots are very nice.
The pants may be useful.
The belt goes well with the Sweater Outfit.

But the shirt shoulda been designed differently.
That is our opinion.

$34 may possibly be worth it if you are dying for this outfit or a piece of it.
But it is steep for something that isn't very trendy as a whole.

We did decide to put the shirt over another shirt on our Liv --
that post will be coming soon.
Consider it a layering experiment.

The Riding Helmet.
This came with the Saige Starter Collection.
Along with the brown hat.

The hat set seems to be the least popular item in the collection.
And if it wasn't in the Starter, they probably wouldn't be moving any at all.
Just a guess.
Don't shoot the guesser.

The helmet is bright, bold and useful if you are into a
genuine 'riding' experience for your dolls.
It fits well and clips closed under her chin.
I am worried about the black strap and clip marking my doll,
so I didn't close it.
We are paranoid.

We haven't been able to get good pics of the brown hat yet.
So stay tuned for our future attempts at that.
Every try just looked redunk so far.

The Hat Set is $20 outside the Starter.

And's that $20 that could go toward a doll... or a complete outfit...
So unless you are dying to get these hats, you might want to rethink buying this set.

Okay, that's all for now folks.

Thanks for visiting us today!

Stay tuned for more Saige-themed posts around the corner!

I agree I'm not fond of the shirt tucked into the pants with the belt- I haven't tried mine on Saige yet, but think that a longer shirt definietly would have been a better option. And the brown hat would be much nicer if it was made of something else.

I live in a place where it's common to see people wearing outfits like this, and I still think it's Ugly with a capital U. The shirt is just awful, it looks like someone's drug-influenced rendition of Nicki's Tie top (which I love) and seriously, Pink on a red haired doll? Only Ariel can pull that off. I agree that the jeans are kind of "mom jeans" although they aren't bad. The boots... oy.
Also I love the helmet but I refuse to pay $20 for it and that hideous hat. Ain't. Happening.
Sorry I'm so ranty... :P
