Lea's Outfit of the Day Featuring
All Dolled Up Doll Clothes

So we've had Lea since around our birthday in February -
but we've really only taken pics of her in three outfits.

So yeah - we suck.

We have posted these pics on Instagram,
but we want to start a sort of Instagram round-up
here on the blog so you can see the pics all together
and also get more information about them.

(It's amazing - I've had this vest and skirt ^^^ forever
and never really thought of putting them together. Derp.)

Lea's outfit consists of:

A vest - custom order from All Dolled Up Doll Clothes
And a skirt - custom order from All Dolled Up Doll Clothes

A white slip from Royal Doll Boutique on Etsy
and
A headband from Suzy M Studio on Etsy

All Dolled Up Doll Clothes doesn't do custom orders anymore, as far as we know.

What she does offer is patterns - lots and lots of wonderful patterns - for those of you who sew.

So if you want a vest like this one, go here for the pattern:

Sarah's Vest

The website also features a list of people who make clothing from the patterns:

So they may be offering some items for sale in their shops, but you can also message them and ask if they will do a custom order for you of item(s) from the All Dolled Up patterns.

I bet a lot of them will be willing to create stuff from the patterns for you!!!

___________

As far as camera notes - the above pics were taken with a ye olde Canon Rebel with a 50mm lens.

This allows me to blur out the background.

It gives the pics a small area of focus and makes them kind of dreamy-looking.
Jfyi.

Also, they were taken inside my light box thingy. :-)

Which I have posted about before here:

...in case you want to learn more about it. ;-)

And then the pics are heavily edited by moi.

Because I edit the crap out of my pics.

But the colors are generally true to life. :-)

I increase the sharpness, the brightness, the contrast, the saturation, and the structure settings - but not to the point of weirdness, haha.

Just so everything is more vibrant. :-)

Etsy Log Stardate 3.16.2015

It's Monday!

You know what that means???

Yep, time for this comic logo again!!

Today we explore some of the purchases we have made
from Etsy's Royal Doll Boutique.

Some of these items have appeared on the blog already,
and/or our Instagram.

But it's not like you guys are looking
at everything we have posted ever.

So we might as well show them here. :-)

Thank you for visiting us today!!!

Not Just Dancewear:
Isabelle's Performance Set Unitard

Today we have Sharmaine sporting
Isabelle's "sleek unitard," haha.
That is how it is described on the American Girl website.
We'll call it a sleek-tard.

Our camera-phone experimentation continued with this series of pics.

And as you can tell her wig is in a different position from last time.
http://thedollwardrobe.blogspot.com/2014/07/camera-phone-experimentation-cropped.html

This is a benefit of not gluing down the wigs.
And we can swap them around all of our bald dolls as we please.

Her top was crafted by Etsy's Royal Doll Boutique.

Tiny pink bunny is from the San-X Sentimental Circus line.

You can buy it here:
http://www.shopkawaii.com/San-X-Sentimental-Circus-Dreamy-Land-2-7-Palm-Siz-p/mp-61901.htm

Sunshine moved a little bit and her hair became redder,
skin tone more golden in da pics....

Which goes to prove how different your doll
can look depending on the lighting...

Even in this series of pics her hair color and skin tone look different pic to pic,
because the clouds kept moving,
shifting the quality and quantity of sunshine!

We should do more posts on that issue. :-)

Thanks for visiting us today!

Camera-Phone Experimentation:
Cropped Tank and Peplum Skirt

Hello Fiends!

So it's been awhile since we have been able to post our own pics
of dolly goodness here at The DW.

During the July 4th week we ventured outdoors (gasp!)
for some camera-phone experimentation.

We usually use a Canon Rebel, but this time we purposefully
left that puppy in the camera cupboard and
used our Samsung Note3 camera-phone thingy.

We thought it would be interesting to experiment with it
and see what we could shoot.
You never know what you can come up with until you try!

Today we will share our pics of Sharmaine, our #26 that we have scalped.

Currently she is wearing Saige's wig that
we boiled and conditioned;
so it is a relaxed version of that wig.

The wig is not glued down,
so we move it around on her head, haha.
This also allows us to use this wig on all of our other bald dolls.

Sharmaine is wearing a cropped mint tank top from
Etsy's Closet 4 Chloe,
a purple necklace from Etsy's Everyday Dollwear,
and a light grey peplum skirt made by
Etsy's Royal Doll Boutique.

And how did we get Sharmaine to stand up in the grass???

Certainly not on her own two feet,
because we have never managed that very easily, haha.

With a stick! In the drain grate! Woot! Fancy!

But, hey maybe that will help people get some ideas for taking outdoor pics.

There is our "behind the scenes" pic! ^^^ Heehee.

Thanks for visiting us today!

Maple's How Trendy is Your Doll?
Off-The-Shoulder Top Challenge

Yo, peeps.
Maple, here. Long time no harass. ;-)

If you aren't familiar with me, I am the resident PITB.
(Pain in the Butt.)

Last time I talked about Trends to Sew was
a post about our TtS Pinterest Board:

Which generated ZERO comments.
Glad you were reading. (That's sarcasm.)

And before that I critiqued the MyAG Sweet Spring Dress:

Which elicited a reaction from some readers bordering on cray cray.
It's as if I insulted their first-born or something.

It's a dress people.
No need to grab the red telephone.

(If you don't know what the red telephone is:
If you don't know what a telephone is, I can't help you.)

If my posts manage to tick people off,
I feel I am doing something right.
GO! ME!

(And I still think the Saccharine Tinkle Dress is a drag, btw.
If you wanna fight it out, see me after school in the Jimmy John's parking lot.
Just a word of warning, I have a mean roundhouse kick.)

Also, see that post for some great (in my opinion) examples of Trends to Sew --
crochet and lace-accented dresses and girly styles.

For today's post I start a new series:

Maple's How Trendy is Your Doll?

That annoying girl of the year, Saige, has cloned herself here in Badger's Wood at
The DW Headquarters and Lil' Miss Saige 2.0, i.e. Columbia Easton,
keeps showing up here on the blog instead of me.

What the?
Oh well.
I will use her to my own ends.

Today's Trend to Sew is Off-The-Shoulder Tops.

We custom-ordered this blue baby from Royal Doll Boutique on Etsy.

The white tunic is also from Royal Doll Boutique.
The yellow shorts are from Liberty Jane Clothing.
The purse is from Fox and Family.

You may be saying, "Off-The-Shoulder Tops? That's sooo 2011!"
Not so.
They are still "in," as are cut-out or cold shoulder tops, and
boxy, drapey tops that are great for layering.

From Forever21:
