Reader Submission #86
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

Hi!  My favorite doll is my AG doll Kanani.  I have her in a special outfit that my grandma made for her.  It is a black leather jacket and a purple sequined dress.  Purple is my favorite color, and this was an outfit that I wanted for her, so that she could look like a rockstar!

I like the outfit that I picked because I think the sweater is really pretty, and the hat is really cool!

Thank You Reader #86!!!!

Reader Submission #85
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

Here is Molly in a sweetheart of a Valentine dress.  My DD11 and I love this outfit on Molly, especially now, that she is being retired.  She looks so sweet in pink.  It was made from a bunny bear pattern a few years ago and Molly wears it every February.

This is the type of outfit we'd like to see for dolls.  It just seems like it would be perfect for a vacation by the water (on a cruise ship or sailboat maybe?)  We just love the stripes and the denim type jacket that has that young and cute look!

For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

First pictures are of my JLY #22, Amanda.

She is wearing her absolute favorite dress by "SCOsammy" on etsy. This is one of my favorite shops, where I have plenty of her handmade outfits! Amanda and I love this dress because of how girly and unique it is! Amanda loves just about anything pink like I do, and loves the fit and flare style on dresses!

Second set of pictures are of JLY #17, Christine.

Christine is wearing a vintage styled dress with a modern twist. Christine, like me and Amanda, is very into fashion. Christine loves to rock the vintage looks and this dress particularly, because it matches her hair! This one of a kind dress was custom made from "Fashioned4you" on etsy. I also have many items from her shop!

I would love to see these last two dresses in doll size as they are very fashionable and effortlessly cute!

Reader Submission #83
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

Hi! My name is Alisha and my favorite doll outfit is the outfit my doll Jess is modeling. I made it last year for the 2012 Doll Wardrobe Fashion Design Challenge. It is my version of Susan's coronation gown from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe movie. I loved the outfit she wore in the movie and I wanted to make it in American Girl doll scale.

An outfit I would love to have in American Girl doll size is this outfit worn by Lucy in the Narnia: Prince Caspian movie. Can you tell I love Narnia? :)

Another outfit I would like to see in AG size is this pink and white gingham dress.

Here are some of my websites:

Reader Submission #82
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

This is my doll Melody. I received her as a Christmas gift from my soon to be husband in 2001. She is an American Girl of Today with blonde hair and brown eyes.

Melody is wearing her favorite outfit...AG Samantha's Middy Dress. It looks darling on her. I've always liked the nautical look and high button boots. The first time I saw this in the catalog I fell in love. The details are really nice.

Each year I participate in the Goschenoppen Folk Festival in Frederick, PA. The home skill I demonstrate is from the 18th century. I would love a similar outfit for Melody. [This isn't the best picture as it was taken near the end of the day.] The period attire includes a skirt, short gown, apron, pocket, kerchief, and bonnet.

Recently I started a blog and have been having a lot of fun with it. Getting to know other doll bloggists and the great sites out there to help outfit collections. Such wonderfully talented people!

My blog is called Tea Time with Melody Q.

For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

In these pictures my doll McKenna is wearing my favorite doll outfit. It is my favorite because it is just so cute. The shirt is the MAG meet shirt. I made the mini skirt and the shoes. I think the shoes are the cutest part of the outfit!

Human outfit I want to have in doll size.

Reader Submission #80
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

This is Hodel Eisenberg's (a Jess doll) favorite outfit! When it's this hot outside, wearing a flowing feedsack dress keeps her cool and comfortable. She loves to dress it up with black flats, or her black shoes with tiny heals. Her favorite color is purple, and it makes her feel confident and empowered. She always wears her star of David necklace her father gave her.

Hodel is better known to some as Traveling Hodel. For the past five years, she's been all around the world, and even the country traveling. She is ten years old, and loves acting and archeology. She recently started a new Facebook page, which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/HodelEnyeEisenberg

Dress: Ruthie's Meet Outfit; American Girl
Socks: Ruthie's Meet Outfit; American Girl
Shoes: Ruthie's Meet Outfit; American Girl
Necklace: Hanukkah Set; American Girl
Hair Ribbons: Pink Ribbons; Build-a-Bear
Doll: Jess; American Girl

I'd love to have a doll sized version for this cute outfit from Mini Boden. I'm a huge fan of rompers, especially on younger girls. They're versitile and can be dressed up or down with accessories!

Reader Submission #79
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

This is my favorite outfit because I am a figure skater, and Molly likes skating, too.

I want this outfit for dolls because it is one of my favorite figure skaters ( Ashley Wagner) and because it is a really beautiful dress that would look good on Molly or on any of my dolls.

My doll's name is Rebecca.
This is my favorite dress because it has the initial "R"!
The dress is homemade.  My mom and I made it.

This is the outfit I would like to see in doll size.

Reader Submission #77
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

Hi!  Here is my doll, Kaya, modeling her favorite American Girl outfit.  It consists of the “Pretty and Plaid” outfit with the addition of the purple leggings from McKenna’s school outfit.  The necklace is from the “Talent Show Accessories” that AG sold eons ago.  Kaya likes this outfit because it’s stylish and trendy without being frilly, and I like it because the icy lavender and blue really “pop” with Kaya’s coloring.

If I could shrink a human-sized dress down to fit any doll—American Girl, Tonner, or otherwise—it would be this amazing monarch butterfly dress designed by Luly Yang.  It’s so beautiful and artsy, and would be perfect for a costume party or masked ball.  I would probably trim the fuzzy boa along the neckline shorter so it wasn’t as droopy (or leave it off entirely), but otherwise, I love it.  A blue and black version like a blue morpho butterfly would also be really cool.  Now, if only I could find some small, silk butterfly wings… ;)

For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

Hi! My name is Lulu, and my doll, (one of many) Payton is wearing the adorable Saige Sparkle Dress that I got on the day it came out at an American Girl Store. It's one of my favorites because of the bright dress, which is perfect for a summer occasion, but if you mix and match accessories it can work for all year round.

Here is a very cute outfit I put together using pieces from Mini Boden that I would love to have for my dolls!

I think the fun colors, details, and patterns make an adorable outfit :)
Finally, I do lots of doll things in a magazine I help co-write and edit called the Doll Mag, and it's blog, http://thedollmag.wordpress.com. I also do some other AG-Related things on my own blog, http://theawesomeadventuresoflulu.wordpress.com.

Reader Submission #75
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

So, this is my doll named Amber. She is standing near a mirror, trying to tease her reflection XD
Her favorite outfit has a pair of boots with green embroidery of a butterfly. The boots are from the current MAG meet outfit. Her pants are from the retired Real me meet outfit. Her shirt is one of Lanie's sets that comes with a girl sized shirt. And lastly, her vest is made by me, that I knit. There are 3 buttons on it.

Then, theres the outfit I want for my doll. I love lace, so the black lace shirt would look great with the white tank. Then, there are the black skinny jeans to go with the lace shirt.
Then my favorite part, the UGGs! They are dark brown, and have buttons. They are tall UGGs.

Reader Submission #74
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

1. The "Colonial Boom" is my favorite outfit on my favorite doll. I made this ensemble.

2. Out of all my dolls this old Felicity is my favorite because she was my first and because I worked so hard for her when I was a girl. I still think she is a very pretty doll. The outfit was made by me. I absolutely love the fabric. It is a reproduction historical print and although it's cotton, it has a silky smooth feel to it. The green makes Felicity's eyes pop. I used a Thimbles and Acorns pattern and the details  (like the pleated back) make this dress stand out. I also love the white mob cap that goes with it.

3. An outfit I'd like to see made AG sized is a dress from the movie "Summer Magic" with Hayley Mills in it. I found these images on pinterest:

For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

My favorite AG doll is Emily, and I like to keep her posed in her softball uniform.  The outfit was given to me for Christmas from a family member.  They know how much I like playing softball, so it was a great gift.

I really like the jacket in the picture, and think it would be cute in doll size.

Reader Submission #72
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

Hello Everybody!

My name is Quinlyn, and some of you might know me from my blog, Quinny & Co. One of my favorite things about collecting dolls is dressing them up in delightful small-scale outfits. I really appreciate a well-made piece of doll clothing. It always feels like a luxury item, even if it is for a doll!

Today I’ll be talking about my JLY #25 Leah’s favorite outfit. She’s one of my fashionistas, but her favorite outfit remains her summery blue “meet dress."

Leah’s story started when she was rescued from a thrift store from my wonderful friend, Lexi (http://oldfashiondolls.blogspot.com/). A few days later, much to my surprise and happiness, I found Leah on my doorstep, sent to me as a beautiful gift. She was dressed in the hand-made blue dress that Lexi had sewn, along with the cutest little colorblock converse shoes (AG brand; from the retired Dockside Outfit) and socks.

Leah loves the way the cool blue cotton looks with her dark hair, the fun crossover neckline, and the rainbow trim. It perfectly suits her personality and the days when she wants to dress pretty and be free to have fun at the same time! However, on many occasions, Leah has been obliged to share her favorite dress because Kit loves it, too! ;)

Another one of my favorite things about doll clothes is the ability that some amazing seamstresses have to create miniatures from human-sized patterns and fabrics. There are hundreds of outfits I would love to see made in doll-sized, but I’ll confine myself to two, one for summer and one for winter:

This coat would be a gorgeous (and very sweet!) addition to any doll’s wardrobe. The childlike style reflects the fact that the dolls are, in fact, dolls, but it’s soft and luxurious enough to delight any wearer. I think it would look especially nice on dark-haired dolls like Leah or blond-haired, blue-eyed dolls like Elizabeth.

This would be such a fun piece in a doll’s size. The twirly skirt and color combination would catch the eye of everyone at a doll ball. It’s playful, yet sophisticated, and would work well on dolls of any eye/hair color combination.

Thanks to The Doll Wardrobe for hosting this contest—it was a lot of fun getting to look at pretty clothes and speak to you all. If you want to see more posts of mine, you can visit my blog at http://quinlynsblog.blogspot.com or glimpse into my photography at http://www.flickr.com/photos/quinnyandco/.

Have a wonderful day!
~Quinlyn

Reader Submission #71
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

This is my charming Kit Kittredge in her contemporary gardening outfit (American Girl, circa 2008). I have always thought of this outfit as a modern "Meet" outfit for Kit. Kit wears this ensemble when she is feeling imaginative or wants to "commune with nature" (also, when she has been spending too much time with her neo-Romantic best friend Ruthie). If Kit has writer's block, or is preparing her latest short story (because even journalists write fiction sometimes) she will hike through the woods and bring a book to her preferred out of doors reading nook, Moss-on-the-Rock (she also likes to give Robin Hood-inspired names to the local landscape). Kit is very matter-of-fact about her curiosity, a juxtaposition if I've ever heard one. I'm glad I've known her for almost ten years (this December) or else I would just think she's a bit peculiar. "Curiouser and curiouser!" wrote Lewis Carroll. That maybe be Ruthie's motto, but it applies to Kit, too.

The outfit I wish had in doll size is a Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane dress. The photo is one from the May 2013 issue of NYLON magazine, photographed by Jessica Haye and Clark Hsiao. [I took a photo of that photo with my camera.] I love this outfit because it is a Romantic (in the artistic sense)  full-color-spectrum, glimmering, billowy, ruffled dress with dark leather accents and a wide-brimmed hat. Dashing!

I do not have a blog myself, but my friends' blog is www.americangirlcollage.blogspot.com. (They gave me permission to post their web site's name on my entry).
