Doll Jewelry, Part Four: Ship's Wheel and Milk Necklaces

"Milk necklace? What in the world is that?" you are probably asking yourself. Haha. We'll get to that in a minute.

First we have Jocelyn modeling the ship's wheel necklace that we created in the last doll jewelry post. She is wearing an all-ivory outfit compiled from the Liberty Jane Fall 2010 Line: "Malibu Libby: Zuma Betty" pants and lace over-shirt, and the tank top from "Outback Libby: Pine Gap." The navy ribbon on her pants is Jocelyn's "Fashionable Ode to Punky Brewster" -- a colorful connection to her necklace and shoes.

Then we have pictures of a half-de-constructed keychain. It is dedicated to all things feline and was found in a normal trinket shop while on vacation. You may want to think about the keychains in your life. Gifts from friends that you don't use? Things that were too heavy when you put your keys on them? Something that was replaced by a newer, flashier bauble? Perhaps there are little charms to be found on them too!

This is what it looked liked before we de-constructed it.

Of course, if you don't mind spending the $$ just to de-construct them to make doll jewelry, you can always look for appropriately-sized keychain thingys during your travels and shopping excursions out and about.

So this Little Gifts wholesale brand "I love cats" keychain can be found on online for $10-14. We don't think we spent that much on it though in the store. There are also ones out there for "I love dogs" as well - a whole line of them with specific breeds. And ones for birds, horses, and endangered species too. Just FYI.

So we took off the milk bottle and the fish skeleton to use with the colored chains we purchased at JoAnn's. Being a keychain it was a bit more difficult to open the links to get the charm off, but we managed it with the pliers. 

We decided to use the red chain with the milk bottle. Here are some shots of our supplies for this necklace. We used the silver link from the long shiny chain to link the milk bottle to the red chain.

And just like the other necklace tutorials we have shown you, we closed the piece of red chain onto either side of a magnetic clasp, and then linked the charm to the chain at its mid-point.

We figure by now we don't have to go step-by-step, since you can see the specific process in the previous 2 parts of this series. Stay tuned for the next doll jewelry post when we will show you the finished milk bottle and fish skeleton necklaces!

Liberty Jane Outfits with Dynamite Threads Tee

Sup! We are back. This is almost the last of the photos we took in December. We are finally catching up. Aren't you impressed?

Today we have three outfits being modeled (from left to right) by Jocelyn, Adanya, and Rebecca.

Jocelyn is wearing about 90% of Liberty Jane's Oxford Square outfit. It comes with two shirts, blue cords, shoes, necklace, and the gray herringbone coat you see on Adanya. We wanted to show you the outfit without the coat on (the way you see it in most pics). We really like the layered shirt look and the cascading necklaces, plus the color of those pants. They are made of awesome. We ♡ blue.

Adanya is sporting that Liberty Jane Oxford Square coat, with custom-made grey skinny jeans also from LJ and a custom tee shirt from Dynamite Threads. The embroidered logo on the tee shirt is like a pirate logo with a skull and crossed bones. Except the bones are needles and threads. Great, eh? Dynamite Threads made us a whole bunch of custom stuff last summer/early fall. And we have yet to show it all off. But we have shown you a black skirt and purple leggings here and a green and white set here. The Dynamite Threads blog is here; she does custom orders and is great to work with. :-D

Rebecca is modeling the Paris Daydream outfit from Liberty Jane. Pictures don't do this outfit justice. It really pops in person. It included the hat, scarf, tank top, leggings, boots, and a bracelet. The leggings feature those see-through slices that we see on some of the American Eagle clothing we talked about before. It is a popular feature in trendy clothing today. We also like the tunic tank top over leggings look-- also very "in" today. But we have to say that our fav feature was the gauzy material layered over the white material in the top-- it's those types of touches that make LJ clothing look like people clothing. Which is ultimately the goal that people should be going for when making dolly clothes (in our opinion).

Some of the Halloween Stuff We Planned on Showing You A Week Ago...

Epic Fail!

Yeah... we took all those Halloween photos to show you, but we ran out of time to actually post them. We had to pack to fly to Salem, Massachusetts for a long weekend, get there, celebrate Halloween, and then come back. On Halloween I caught a horrid cold which I have been fighting all week. So blogging has been delayed in favor of sleep. :-(

But we hope our readers are understanding and will entertain our idea to show you all those Halloween and costume photos anyways. Maybe they will give you ideas for next year or for outfits or items you have been looking for.

Today Jocelyn Twiggs is shown prepping for our annual Halloween get-together. She is wearing black cat ears (known by the Japanese cosplay term Nekomimi= catgirl), handcrafted by Etsy seller Rue18. Aren't they adorable?! Rue18 currently has white and pink ones available in her shop. The treats Jocelyn has brought out from the kitchen include candied apples, brownies, and ice cream sandwiches made by Etsy seller Pippaloo. They look so tasty....

Jocelyn's candy corn apron and oven mitt were created by Etsy seller The Dolly Stand, as well as her tank top and white pants. They are two parts of an ensemble we purchased from this seller, one of the Liberty Jane Premium Partners. We can't say how much we are impressed with this seller's items. She also made that red, green and white holiday outfit you saw on Felicity in the kitchen set post, and one of those outfits is currently available in the Etsy shop.

Two-tone Glasses, Beach Sunglasses, and P&P Dress

Cheerio friends and neighbors! Me again!

I have yet to exhaust this recent AG order, as most of you know.... because I am so slow posting stuff. Cough. Cough. I wish I could say it is because I am having so much fun doing summery stuff--- but we are mostly hard at work here doing one project or another. I haven't even been swimming once this summer! *Cries. But hopefully I'll get to go this weekend... :)

Speaking of doing summery things, Emily and Karen have actually gone "On Location" for a very special photo shoot outside. Yes, OUTSIDE. A first for The Doll Wardrobe blog. They were released onto our estate here at Badger's Wood and allowed to run amok while the rest of us are trapped inside posing against a white door! Geez!

Anyway self-pity aside, we'll be showing you those pictures sporadically as they come in. For now, we proceed with our scheduled photos: the two-tone glasses on a variety of dolls. And we are also going to show you the beach sunglasses and the dress from Pretty and Plaid by itself.

So first...... here is our #36 whom we have named Jocelyn Twiggs (instead of #33 as Jocelyn).... and she is modeling both types of glasses. #33 has been named Zoe Twiggs, and they are sisters. Here Jocelyn is shown in the sweatshirt from the Innerstar U outfit from AG.

And up next are Angelina Sheldon and Lira Sartorius also modeling both pairs of glasses for us. Both girls are wearing mystery shirts which we will be showing you soon as parts of complete outfits. Extra credit goes to the reader(s) who knows where we bought these shirts from. ;)

Finally, we get to beautiful Adanya Navarre. She is wearing the Pretty and Plaid dress by itself and modeling both pairs of glasses as well. The dress, as you can hopefully tell from our pics, is not see-through without that blue shirt under it. So it is perfectly fine to wear the dress without the shirt. Adanya's shoes are from the new Meet outfit.
