Atwitter for Regency:
Terri's Touch Sea Foam Green Dress

Hola peoples!

Just another quick "Atwitter for Regency."

This time Lira is modeling a dress from Terri's Touch

The green color looks as if it were made especially to match Caroline's eyes!
But we bought this two years ago! Haha. :-D

Thanks for visiting us today!

Atwitter for Regency: DD Spencer Jacket

Sup peoples!

While others have already gotten their pre-order Caroline shipments -- we are out of luck.
Maple says it is because our house is locked behind a magical force field.

I think it is because our AG shipments are always pretty slow.
It's so deeee-pressing.

So we'll stick with posting our Lira pics we shot this week.

Here she is sporting the navy spencer jacket with the ivory gown we showed you in our first "Atwitter for Regency" post this week.

Both items were handcrafted by The Dollies' Dressmaker.

We love, love, love this jacket. It is beautiful.
The fabric is great and so is the design.
It also snaps closed, so we don't have to worry about wrestling to get
those pearl buttons into buttonholes.
Also, we think it would work as a posh modern cropped jacket as well...
...but we haven't tried that yet....

Thanks for visiting us today!

Atwitter for Regency :
Dollies' Dressmaker Gown

It's an exciting time for AG enthusiasts.
We always love, love, love the build-up to new items being released.
It's like group therapy, everyone can relate to each other and
talk about the same thing. Heehee. :-D

Us collectors are probably almost as excited to see and play with Caroline's stuff as the AG Team is excited to release it all. The AG designers, writers, and researchers have been working on this stuff for over 3 years. I bet they are happy September 4th is just around the corner, when she will be available online and in all of the stores.

(And of course, that means winter MyAG gear will release as well, including the holiday outfits and sets, and maybe some new items for the other historicals, like Rebecca...maybe)

In our own excitement about Caroline we thought: "Hey, we should really photograph some more of our own Regency collection."

We asked y'alls on Facebook about what we should do. Some of you wanted to see them now, and one person suggested Lanie as a substitute. Others wanted to see items on Caroline.

So we'll do a mixture, some outfits on Lanie/Lira and some on Caroline when she arrives.

Some of the outfits are clearly Regency attire -- others are based on human costuming, for instance BBC productions of "Emma." We aren't too finicky about being 100% historically accurate here, we buy and order what we like/want.

We pre-ordered Caroline, so hopefully she'll be here next week, fyi -- to start her modeling duties. ;-)

We begin with The Dollies' Dressmaker one of a kind set, this ivory gown and later, a post with the navy spencer jacket that accompanied it (which you can see on our Facebook page if you want a spoiler: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Doll-Wardrobe-Blog/181472528562468).

The dress is gorgeous and we could spend all day waxing on about it -- but a picture is worth 1,000 words.....

Lira makes a pretty good temporary Caroline, and she was happy to model for us.

Just don't tell Maple that Lira will be featured on the blog for like a week and a half.

Also don't tell Maple we used her nautical brass items collection for our tabletop display....

Thanks for visiting us today!!!

Very Versatile Pants
i.e. LJ Ready for Ruby's

Hola! Well we finished talking about C and M-G for now and we wanted to give you a break from Maple's Pirate Treasure Hunt for a day.

So we have a new video and some photos from it for y'all to see. We are using it as a reminder that Liberty Jane usually releases their Fall Line on Ebay starting around October (usually). And there a lot of other shopkeepers who will be doing the same (some sooner than that, just fyi).

And there are probably more peeps out there doing special lines, I just can't remember them all. Haha. So if you are doing a Fall or Winter Line in your shop, please be sure to comment below!

In the meantime, here are some pics.... Lira is wearing LJ's Malibu Libby Ready for Ruby's outfit from the Spring 2011 collection. Her boots are from the MyAG Western Riding Outfit.

Then she has replaced the silk sheer tank top with a brilliant blue short-sleeve sweater from Dynamite Threads.

And last but not least she has changed to a plaid tee shirt from Chenpanhome/Emmalee Chance's Alpine Lake Designs/Studios. So you can now understand why we called this post "Very Versatile Pants." We love these pants!!! p.s. Her shoes are also from Liberty Jane.

Video with detail shots.....

On other topics, school starts tomorrow. Bummer. But Cecile and Marie-Grace's collection and new AG stuff is supposed to be released this week (some of it 'surprises'). So that is exciting! Now we just need to plant a money tree to pay for all the AG stuff we want.... hmmmm....

March/April Giveaway Wrap-Up and
4 New Outfits in a Video

Sup, peeps. We just wanted to name our three winners all in one post, so y'all don't get too confused. All three ladies have responded to their emails. So this list is "finalized."

Karise E. won the mint green dress, Andrea O. won the purple dress, and Debbie A. won the red dress set.

Yay and congrats to all three winners!

And just so we have something else to entertain you today, we finished processing a new video: Four New Modern Outfits. We are doing a lot of those lately, haha -- mostly because we have so many we haven't taken photos of yet.

In today's video Cassie is wearing an outfit from Cutie Pie and Me. Her headband is also from that seller, but her belt is Liberty Jane, while her boots are AG. Lira is wearing a Doll Closet top, with a Liberty Jane belt, and Cutie Pie and Me jeans. Her shoes are AG.

Kanani is modeling a Britlyn Madison shirt and necklaces, with AG leggings, and Megori Girls boots. Arista's outfit is a tee shirt from 123 Mulberry Street, Josefina's vest, and a Liberty Jane belt and skirt. The boots are also from Liberty Jane, although they are also available through Britlyn Madison when in stock.

Any questions? Feel free to let us know!

Two Cutie Pie and Me Tops and Extras!

Hola! Today we wanted to highlight two tunic tops we special-ordered from Etsy seller Cutie Pie and Me, part of a larger order.

But first we did want to confirm that Dawn S. has chosen Kirsten as her prize for the Winter 2011 Doll Giveaway. Kirsten hasn't quite made her way to Dawn yet -- but the process is in place, haha. We are a slow operation here in Badger's Wood. :'-(

And in other news, the replacement doll for the Spring 2011 Doll Giveaway/Contest has arrived! Ooo! We'll have a picture of her for you here soon!  Ooooo - the mystery!

Below Mina and Lira are wearing the tunic tops, crafted from the Liberty Jane pattern from Diana Lemieux of Lemieux Doll Boutique of Etsy and Ebay. Mina's skirt is from Etsy seller Sew Urban Designs. Lira's shorts are from a LE couture outfit from Britlyn Madison. The purse and headband you see in the pics were also made by Cutie Pie and Me.

We think these are some pretty cute outfits; we hope you agree!

Some bonus pics of couture outfits from Britlyn Madison that are currently available. Salute to Style is the outfit that Lira's shorts come from (we do have the rest of the outfit to show at some point), and the second outfit is known as Aria's Secret. Both of these looks are handmade and worth the price. Salute is very well made. Also this is a good shop for a variety of shoes, and they do custom couture work in case you have a design idea in your head that you want to become a reality.

Sew Urban Designs has a ton of great outfits and their clothing is excellent. We have several things from them and it is all fantastic.

And last but not least, Cutie Pie and Me is currently offering more tunic tops if you are interested, as well as many other items. Wonderfully made stuff-- we highly recommend this seller. And of course, custom work is welcome. :-)

The Purple Post

We've taken a lot of photos over the past few months that we haven't actually posted yet. So things might seem a bit random for a little while as we attempt to process those images and post about them. ;-)

For today's post we have three "purple" items-- yes we had a theme for this photo shoot. Haha. And you can tell we took the pictures in December because we had holiday decor in there. :-)

From left to right you see Cassie modeling Pippaloo's purple belted dress, Ginny wearing Melody Valerie's Literary Travels dress, and Lira sporting Liberty Jane's Sofia. We bought the Pippaloo dress when she first opened her Etsy shop (awhile ago). The Literary Travels dress is from the MVC Fall 2010 line. And Sofia appeared in the LJ Fall 2010 collection. As you can tell, we are sort of "behind" in taking pictures and posting things. ;-)

First here is a general shot of the three girls together....

And then Lira and her slideshow...

Ginny and her slideshow...

And Cassie and her slideshow...

MyAG Snow Flurry Outfit and the
2009 Holiday PWP Sweater Set

Well Friday flew by and we didn't manage to get this post finished. And then most of Saturday was spent running errands.... so the post had to wait. But here we are finally!

Today we show you the MyAG Snow Flurry outfit which was just released at the beginning of September and the 2009 Purchase with Purchase Red Holiday Sweater Set. The Snow Flurry outfit is being modeled by Sun Ji and the sweater set appears on Lira Sartorius. Yesterday they went for a walk in the woods and met a friendly grizzly bear who agreed to pose for pictures with them. Holidays are always more fun with a nice teddy bear by your side. ;)

The Snow Flurry outfit is expensive-- more than 1/3  the cost of a whole doll!!! But it does come with a lot of pieces. You get the hat, coat, leggings, mittens and boots with this set. The coat is super-super soft. We wish AG made dolly bathrobes out of this material. That would be awesome. And bathrobes that come below the knee would be good too AG...

But bathrobes aside, we do recommend Snow Flurry if your dolls need some cold weather gear. The Frosty Fun jacket set really is more for autumn weather, despite having the word "Frosty" in the title. We didn't buy the pink and white Snowy Chic outfit because of the pinkness but people really seemed to like it. So if you missed that outfit and you like blue... Snow Flurry is the outfit for you. :)

Lira is loving the red sweater set-- particularly the sparkly embroidered snowflakes. This set comes with the sweater (obviously, heehee), the headband/ear warmer, and the mittens. It is pretty awesome. But it is a very deep red so don't leave it on your dolls for too long. Such saturated colors exist because of saturated fabric dyes which can bleed off onto the vinyl of your doll. So its a good idea to avoid leaving your doll in any clothing for too long.

Lira's ensemble is completed with the red sparkly holiday shoes from the 2009 AG shoe set, and a pair of our special custom order Liberty Jane dolly jeans made from one of the grey jeans we showed you earlier on the blog. This is pair #1 from the "Felicity and Grey Jeans" post.

We have received the whole outfit for the Fall Giveaway and we will be showing it to you soon on zee blog!

Enjoy our winter duds/holiday gear pictures and stay tuned tomorrow for one more holiday post this week-- a super-special handmade holiday outfit!

L'Atelier de Sitara Party: Part Two

Hola! Welcome to part two of Karen and Zoe's party.... guests begin arriving!

Who has joined us? Lira Sartorius and Emily Bennett are here with a travel-size Scrabble game. What are their L'Atelier de Sitara duds? Lira is wearing the Beachcomber tunic tank top and Emily is wearing a special pair of light-wash skinny jeans. We love the embellishment on the tunic and the nubby texture of the jean fabric!

To complete her look, Lira added on the blue leggings from the AG Lanie Outdoor Outfit (the one with the yellow owl shirt), and a pair of white sandals from Liberty Jane. Emily is wearing a custom-made tee shirt from Penny's Mum, and black and white Converse sneaks from Liberty Jane.

Also, in case you were wondering- FYI- the custom tees are designed from the free tee shirt pattern available from Liberty Jane patterns and made from deconstructed human tee shirts. That has been our favorite way to get awesome graphic tees. :)

Enjoy zee pictures!

Two-tone Glasses, Beach Sunglasses, and P&P Dress

Cheerio friends and neighbors! Me again!

I have yet to exhaust this recent AG order, as most of you know.... because I am so slow posting stuff. Cough. Cough. I wish I could say it is because I am having so much fun doing summery stuff--- but we are mostly hard at work here doing one project or another. I haven't even been swimming once this summer! *Cries. But hopefully I'll get to go this weekend... :)

Speaking of doing summery things, Emily and Karen have actually gone "On Location" for a very special photo shoot outside. Yes, OUTSIDE. A first for The Doll Wardrobe blog. They were released onto our estate here at Badger's Wood and allowed to run amok while the rest of us are trapped inside posing against a white door! Geez!

Anyway self-pity aside, we'll be showing you those pictures sporadically as they come in. For now, we proceed with our scheduled photos: the two-tone glasses on a variety of dolls. And we are also going to show you the beach sunglasses and the dress from Pretty and Plaid by itself.

So first...... here is our #36 whom we have named Jocelyn Twiggs (instead of #33 as Jocelyn).... and she is modeling both types of glasses. #33 has been named Zoe Twiggs, and they are sisters. Here Jocelyn is shown in the sweatshirt from the Innerstar U outfit from AG.

And up next are Angelina Sheldon and Lira Sartorius also modeling both pairs of glasses for us. Both girls are wearing mystery shirts which we will be showing you soon as parts of complete outfits. Extra credit goes to the reader(s) who knows where we bought these shirts from. ;)

Finally, we get to beautiful Adanya Navarre. She is wearing the Pretty and Plaid dress by itself and modeling both pairs of glasses as well. The dress, as you can hopefully tell from our pics, is not see-through without that blue shirt under it. So it is perfectly fine to wear the dress without the shirt. Adanya's shoes are from the new Meet outfit.

Store Exclusive Re-Mix

Here are zee pics of the AG store exclusives that y'all talked about seeing on different dolls! There is Adanya in the red dress and red coat, Arista in the red dress, and Lira in the red dress. And the red dress is shown with black tights and black boots, as requested. Nothing much more to say--- no deep thoughts from me today. ;)

If you want to learn more about these AG store exclusives, please see the posts from the last five or so days. :)

Just around the corner is a surprise secret post... not the Sweet Melody mix and match that we promised a week ago. That will come after the surprise. What do you think the surprise secret post is???? Hmmmm, though I guess since I told you a surprise is coming.... it's not so much a surprise anymore.... oops. ;)

Melody Valerie Mint Vivacity

We finally get around to doing some individual posts on the dresses of the Melody Valerie Couture Spring 2010 Line. Woohoo! Now you already saw a lot of pics in the video we posted earlier, but these dresses are so neat that we wanted to give each a spotlight post.

The Mint Vivacity dress "features ‘applied’ stripes, made by stitching silk and grosgrain ribbons onto a solid green chambray base." And of course the Melody Valerie signature bow can be seen on each shoulder of the dress.

My first thought when I saw this dress was: "Those stripes must have taken so much work to sew on!"

We love the color scheme of this dress, two tones of green with the white- perfect for spring attire. And it would look great with a nice white bolero or sweater for cooler weather. Lira really enjoyed modeling this dress. She especially liked how the bodice was designed with all the ribbons going over the top of it and disappearing. So neat, pretty, and precise in the detailing.

Thank you MVC for this beautiful dress!

More Liberty Jane Denim Combos

Before we get to the rest of this post, some quick news: there's a new Liberty Jane Clothing outfit from the 2010 Spring Line available in an Ebay auction! It is called "Boomerang" and it is pretty cool. See the LJC collage below....

We love, love, love everything about this outfit!
It is the first installment of "Outback Libby" design.
Auction ends April 4th, 2010.

Today's Liberty Jane Monday features Lira and Kaya wearing two pieces of custom-made denim clothing. Yay! Lira is wearing the tee shirt from "Code Red," with a LJC blue tank top, and a blue denim skirt. Kaya is wearing a new silky purple LJC jacket with the sheer tank top from "Picture Day" over a black tank, paired with blue denim jeans. They look pretty chic in their fancy duds!

Enjoy the pics!

Well so far we have seen three of the new LJC spring outfits...I wonder what other outfits will be available???.... So exciting to think about what is around the corner!

p.s. The winners of the 2010 LJC ValenSpring Contest have been announced here... click the linky! Congratulations winners! And a thanks from us to everyone who entered--- we always have such fun watching your videos on Youtube and Facebook during these contests. :D We wish we had even half of your design talents and creativity!!!

Seejoansew "Squeak's Outfit"

The last time we showed off a Seejoansew outfit was awhile ago... so I think it is time to revisit Beds-n-Blankies and the Punk Pirate line from Fall 2009. Don't have a clue what I am talking about? Click here to visit the online shop of Beds-n-Blankies. I encourage you to surf around the site- there is a lot of cool stuff there. Our outfits were purchased from the Sassy Separates section of the store but there is not any Sassy Separates currently for sale, FYI.

So who gets to model today's wearables??? Lira Sartorius!! Black and white clothing can look pretty awesome on an almost-bleach-blonde doll, let me tell you. Lira is rocking the Punk Pirate outfit formerly worn by "Squeak"- one of Seejoansew's models who is a unique pink-haired doll.

What came from Seejoansew for this outfit? And what did we add? Well the hat, scarf, black tank top, skirt, and blue socks were all made with care by Joan. The black bracelet, flashy boots, and the white tie-on sock garters we added ourselves for a bit of pizazz.

Enjoy the pics below! And please speak up in the comments if you have a Seejoansew outfit yourself. We are curious to know what our readers own from this shop! :D

Lanie Giveaway Handmade Items!

Okay, so we kind of went a little overboard with the pictures of these handmade items...but we hope you enjoy looking at all of them anyway. ;)

So here is the story: Lanie's "Meet" outfit looked a little sparse to us over here at The Doll Wardrobe so we got online to our favorite site, Etsy, and ordered some custom items to go with this outfit.

What did we get? White leggings from suzymstudio and crocheted poncho sets from Lavenderlore! Hopefully our winners will appreciate a "Meet" outfit that is a little more complete. We ordered three of each thing, so our Lira gets to keep a set for herself as well. Here she is in a ton of pics wearing her new hat, poncho, and leggings, and holding her new purse! Now she is all set to go walk with her bunny around Cambridge in the "chillier" months. ;)

Thank you suzymstudio and Lavenderlore for these custom items!!!

So what do you guys think? Do you like our customized additions to the Lanie "Meet" outfit? Are you happy they are part of the giveaway prizes???

Lira Meets Alice

Hola!
This post is about Lira meeting Alice for the first time, as staged in front of Kit's desk. ;) We really like this desk. It mixes up our normal mode of operation for photo shoots (mugshots against the white walls.... heehee). Furniture is definitely a neat prop to have in photos, but we don't always have the time to set it up after we do all the wardrobe changes and hair fixes for the dollies. :(

For this meet and greet, Lira is wearing the Sparkly Star pink tee and roll-cuff jeans (unrolled) from AGPNY and Alice is wearing the Purchase with Purchase Pink Hearts Outfit from AGPNY. So basically I am using this post as a way to show you these two outfits on our dolls. :) You also see Sugar and some more of those toys from last time in these shots. The vase on the top of the desk is from Greece- Lira's father got it for her. He is an archaeologist and goes to Greece every summer on vacation to excavate Ancient Greek antiquities. In Athens they sell these "mini" vase reproductions for the tourists. :)

So here is Lira Sartorius meeting Alice Wilder Baldwin for the first time... and some shots of random stuff in the scene.....

Here are some shots of Alice and her outfit...

And in this last slideshow are some shots of Lira and her outfit...

Two more weeks until the Lanie giveaway winners are announced! Anyone excited??? Next week we will show you the handmade items which will be included with the dolls... once we finish up that photo shoot.... :D

We Are Giving Away Two Lanies!

Want a Lanie Holland doll?
Surprise! Yes, we are doing another doll(s) giveaway... even though we said we wouldn't for a "little while." Of course, most of you probably already figured out what our devious plans were after we told you guys 3,000 times we ordered some secret stuff on January 1st for y'all...

Indeed, we ordered three Lanie dolls, and we are keeping one for ourselves and naming her Lira Sartorius. The other two Lanies will be given away to two of you! There will also be accompanying handmade items which are currently in the "works." We will post once we have them here and can take pictures of them.

By now, hopefully you know the drill: You must be 18 years old or older to enter this giveaway. If you are younger than that please have someone 18 years old or older, like a parent or guardian, enter herself/himself.

To enter, please write your full name and your email address as a comment to this post. It will not be published and only Penny will be able to see it. Winners will be drawn out of a hat, i.e. randomly picked. If you win, she will email that address to notify you and ask for your shipping address.

The last day to enter the giveaway will be
February 6th,
2010 and the winners will be announced on Sunday, February 7th, 2010.

Any questions??? Please feel free to ask. :)

Here are some pictures for you. The middle Lanie is our Lira, and the two flanking Lanies will be the prizes for winners of the giveaway, brand-new in box. ;)

Good luck everyone!
