Naya's Designs Party Dress for Josefina

Well this dress should really be showcased during the holiday season in the wintertime, for it is really the type of garment that Josefina might wear for Christmas or a holiday like that. But we haven't posted a Josefina outfit in a long, long, looooong time--- so we wanted to showcase her again.

Our Josefina is a Pre-Mattel cutie that is a bit chubby in the arms and mid-section. So she can't easily wear many of the outfits in the Mattel JLY line. Truth be told, she doesn't even fit into Mattel shoes made for Josefina. Sad, I know. But luckily, most of the Mattel AG Josefina outfits fit her, and it is nice that designers like The Dollies Dressmaker and Naya's Designs make their Josefina dresses in a size that fits our girl.

So today we show you this dress from Etsy seller Naya's Designs made in a beautiful striped fabric and trimmed with a lovely green ribbon. This dress is based on the AG pattern for Josefina's Christmas Dress (which is also striped). Yes, we already own that dress, purchased back at the dawn of time when it was first released- but this Naya's Designs dress is awesome too, so we bought it as well. And FYI, the necklace is the red coral piece we commissioned from Melody Valerie Couture, several moons ago. :)

Enjoy the pictures!

We haven't talked about Naya's Designs in awhile-- so we wanted to let you know that she currently has 4 pages of rad AG-sized clothing in her Etsy shop. Here is a quick little slideshow to show you some of what she is offering at the moment....

And remember----- The Spring 2010 Doll Giveaway winner will be announced on Tuesday, June 1st--- so be sure to enter your name in the contest before then!!!

Linda's Nayasdesigns Blue Dress

Another Linda/Chrissa post!

This dress pictured below may look familiar to The Doll Wardrobe readers because Susan Shapiro has this same 1940s dress from Etsy seller Nayasdesigns in green! Yes, now they have two dresses that are matchy-matchy. It is a pretty dress pattern (with the combo of ruffles and short sleeves, the buttons down the front, and the full skirt) and it came with a headband, and the white tights. Again, this is a great color with Linda's blue eyes. And once more, a puppy makes an appearance to enhance the cuteness level of this post.

Super-thanks to Nayasdesigns for another great dress!

Nayasdesigns 1940s Green Dress for Susan

Susan loves, loves, loves, LOVES this color green. What words could describe it? It's not quite olive. Nor apple. Not grass. Maybe a moss green? Well according to the wacky wikipedia guide to greens, it is best described as a "fern green." She also likes "sap green" and "asparagus," though they don't really sound very appetizing to me. Apparently we should have created her entire wardrobe in greens. But it's a bit too late now...

The white buttons down the front of this 1940s green dress purchased from Etsy seller nayasdesigns remind me of the buttons on Susan's BoltSense dress posted on June 1st, 2009. Buttons seemed like a good theme for some of her dresses. This purchase came with the fabric-covered headband that is elastic, not hard like Emily's (which pops off her head whenever it wants to), and white tights. The dress features the aforementioned buttons, ruffles down the front and over her shoulders onto the back, white rickrack trim, as well as a cute neckline. The dress has lovely lines and fits Susan well.

Penny also purchased a purple dress, very similar in design, from nayasdesigns. But that belongs to someone besides Susan and will be seen here later this year. If you are interested in dresses like this one, I believe Linnea still has a blue one and a yellow one in her shop. Or at least she did when I wrote this blog entry. Heehee.

Soon we leave for New York. I get to go on a week-long school field trip to a variety of probably-boring museums. Penny gets to go shopping. The injustice. She says the museums are great and I will have tons of fun since I like history so much. Yeah, right. I'd rather go shopping...

After our trip to New York, I, Nora Demington, will return (like a bad penny) on June 19th, 2009 with more wonderful posts for all you fantastic people out there on the Internet! You will see a post on a Ruthie dress purchased from Ebay seller sophie_nc!

Meanwhile check out this beautiful nayasdesigns creation!

Nayasdesigns Penguin Pajamas and Starry Pillow

Where does one find 1940s-era pajamas for 18" dolls?- I hear you ask. Ok, maybe you didn't actually ask this, but we asked this question over here in Badger's Wood. And we found the answer in the Etsy shop of nayasdesigns.

We have Molly and Emily's American Girl brand-name pjs. But now we needed something for Susan to wear to bed. This light blue pair of pajamas features cartoon penguins on a waffle weave fabric. Also included was a pillow and a starry pillowcase. We added the white puppy slippers we previously received from nayasdesigns from the white lounge outfit back in 2008.

Though they probably were not designed with the 1940s in mind, these pjs satisfy us. The penguins are cute and old-fashioned with their bow-ties, and resemble something you might see on 1940s novelty fabrics. These pjs sure look comfy! We are so glad we stopped by nayasdesigns; Linnea has been adding a whole bunch of neat stuff throughout the spring!

On a sidenote, we just wanted to make a quick comment on the sidebar "Help Us Name Our Doll" poll for our upcoming 1950s doll creation. "Virginia" seemed to be a sure thing with over 47% of the votes for awhile there, but now "Connie" is coming up as a definite contender. With about 50 or so votes so far, we greatly appreciate everyone's participation. Thank you so much! For those who haven't voted yet, please feel free to add your opinion to the poll!

As they say in television, "stay tuned" for my next post when we reveal a light blue Ruthie dress from Etsy seller terristouch right here in The Doll Wardrobe!

Nayasdesigns Fleece Outfit

Here I am modeling our latest purchase from Etsy seller nayasdesigns -- a fleece outfit in blue, green and white tones.

I let my sister model the new Keepers Dolly Duds purchase (very kind of me, I think), which you can see below. So I got to model this little number. It came with a jacket, pants, hat, mittens, blue boots, and a scarf. Quite a nice deal for all those items.

Next to me you see a pot of paperwhites that Penny has been growing. It's too cold to actually go outside and model the nayasdesigns winterwear, so we are using the flowers to give the photo-shoot an outdoorsy feeling. Heehee.

Nayasdesigns Apple Apron

Well, we might as well continue the Samantha theme and show you the Apple Apron Penny purchased from Etsy seller nayasdesigns. Linnea, the seamstress genius behind nayasdesigns, recently had hand surgery at the beginning of December- so we send her our best wishes for a quick recovery!

Among the many things we have purchased from Linnea, we snatched up one of her lovely aprons- created for Kit and Ruthie for their kitchen canning duties.

Here we have Samantha modeling the apron over a Terristouch yellow dress. She looks like she is ready to wash the dishes I was supposed to wash this morning... but she said "No Way, Jose." I guess I am going to have to do that chore on my own.

White Lounge Outfit

Stella is modeling a white lounge outfit purchased from Etsy seller nayasdesigns. These awesome slippers came with it. I have never seen anything more cute. And it is just the comfiest, softest fabric.

My New Robe

Here I am again- Nora Demington- modeling my brand-new robe. I also received these awesome pink furry slippers with my order. I purchased these items from Etsy seller nayasdesigns.

The blue paisley pjs that I am wearing underneath came from American Girl. They were even on sale! Wooo! I am totally ready for some hot cocoa and my cozy bed.

My sisters are a bit jealous of my new nightwear...I guess they'll need some new pjs too. We'll have to ask Penny if she'll take us shopping.
