Today's Extra Post of New Things!- Eared Hats from Lavenderlore!

What did the UPS and the USPS men bring to Badger's Wood today?

The new #40 to replace the old #40!
And new custom hats from Etsy seller Lavenderlore!

You'll see these new custom eared hats paired with outfits in later posts, but we were so excited to receive them today at the same time we got our new #40 that we took some pictures. The new doll appears naked in the pictures and slideshow below so you can tell the #40s apart from each other.

The new doll will be our Sabrina M. Dove. No, her eyes are not perfect- but they are better than the last #40 and we'll accept her with her flaws. For some reason the Jess mold eyes are just not the same size on these dolls. But at least with this Sabrina they are mostly looking in the same direction. ;)

We are seriously considering doing an eye swap for Sabrina, and maybe a wig switcheroo. But we aren't sure what the plan is yet. We'll keep you posted. :)

So what's the story with these new hats?

Penny asked Christine over at Lavenderlore if she could create some eared knit hats for us modern dolls to enhance our cuteness factor. Christine happily accepted this custom commission last week, and POOF!-- the hats are already here!

We got four-- in brown, dark purple, dark green and a panda version-- perfect colors to go with our fall and winter outfits. We like them all so much, but are maybe leaning toward the panda one as our fave.

Which hat is your favorite?

UPDATE: Christine is now offering these hats for everyone else! Click here to see the listing and order one for yourself! You can get any of the four types you see below- panda, purple, green, or brown- or any other color(s) you'd like! How exciting!!!

New Dolls! Woo hoo! --- #44, Ivy and (#40)

Finally, the UPS man came today with the dolls Penny had ordered last week! So exciting!

Unfortunately, we are not going to keep the #40 because her eyes were a little too strange for Penny- one being a radically different shape than the other and they gaze in two different directions. Oh well. We can't win them all, and the Jess face mold eyes are never exactly the same size and shape from left to right eye. :(

Penny is considering exchanging her for another #40, but then she also realized once we took some pictures for you that #40 looks a lot like Jess (our Ruthie). Their hair parts on the same side, and the #40's hair was a lot longer than we thought it would be. Maybe if we get a new #40 with good eyes we will give her a haircut.

But I'll stop rambling and give you quick explanations of what you see below.

#44 is yet un-named- but her hair is gorgeous and we are definitely keeping her. Though she probably won't be modeling too many outfits in order to keep her hair nice. For names, we were thinking about Veronica, or Autumn, or Gabriella, or maybe Heidi, or......? Any suggestions for us? She is meant to be one of Stella's friends from her old school in her old town- so she'd be around 15/16 years old.

Meanwhile, our Ivy immediately took off her 1970s duds, ran around naked for a little while, and then grabbed the nearest Liberty Jane items she could find for the photo shoot. She didn't even bother putting on shoes! So I guess this would also qualify as a sneak peek to our Liberty Jane items. ;) Her name is Ramona J. Dove and she attends the private school with Stella and Sundari, making her around 14/15. She is a freshman.

And the #40, which will be returned, was meant to be Sabrina M. Dove- Ramona's younger sister. We will have to wait and see if we want a new #40 to play that role. Or perhaps a #40 or #30 with an eye swap to some other color besides brown??? Who knows right now...but we will keep you updated.

So first you see frontal views of #44, then Ivy, then #40, and finally a comparison shot of #40, Jess, and Ivy. Jess is being a nudist for this photo shoot to help you tell her apart from the #40. ;) All these photos are followed by a loooooong slideshow of many pictures of all the new dolls. Sorry for the length of the slideshow, but you can skip ahead by clicking on the forward and backward buttons when you hover over the image with your mouse.

Any questions about the new dolls? Let us know! And please feel free to leave name suggestions for the #44 with curly hair, medium skin, and hazel eyes. :)
