Update on Rebecca, Now Molly Hayes!

You remember when we posted about one of the three Rebeccas we gave away last year? Click here to check out the post.

Well, now we have another update from one of the other Rebeccas! Yay!

Christine received the non-wonky-eyed Rebecca, her accessories, and the white dress we got from Etsy seller MyOwnLittleWorldToo. She was super-excited to receive her prizes, but wasn't sure she would keep Rebecca as "Rebecca." Here is her story....

"I did end up fiddling with her character a bit, though I thought her book was adorable. She's now Molly Hayes, from the comic book Runaways. I've been wanting a doll based off of her for ages, and even tried it with a former Mia, but it didn't work out. I was thrilled to see how well Rebecca works for her, and it happened by chance! I put her hat on her, trying to figure out who she was, and the hat made me think of Molly, who wears ridonculous hats. So, then, I tried another hat on her, inspired by the hat worn by Jayne in Firefly, and it struck me how perfect she was! I did brush out her curls a bit, but I love her hair color, and the facemold is perfect.

Just some background on the character: Molly is a mutant, with superstrength! She's part of a superhero group that calls themselves the Runaways, who found out their parents were evil, and took it upon themselves to stop them. Best of all, Molly time travels a bit, including a brief stay in the early 1900's so Rebecca's meet outfit and the wonderful dress from MyOwnLittleWorldToo are still perfect for her!"

Here are some pics that Christine took recently of Molly!

And here is Molly with the genetically engineered dinosaur
known as Old Lace, another character from Runaways.

And FYI, Molly's shirt is Our Generation (the Target store doll line), the pants are generic and the jacket is from AG's Kickin' Back outfit.

Thank you so much for sharing this update and your pictures with us Christine! They are great!

Rebecca Giveaway Contest Update with
Pictures of the Handmade Dress

Well we got a lot of replies about our question to those who have entered the Rebecca Giveaway. And enough of you said that wonky-eyed or not- it didn't matter because it would still be awesome to win a doll. So we will give away more than one Rebecca doll! Woohoo!

For the grand prize winner, she/he will receive the less-wonky-eyed Rebecca doll, her Meet outfit, her Meet book, and her accessories. In addition she/he will receive the handmade outfit you see in the photos below, which includes the dress and the hair bow. We show it below on our own Rebecca Isaacke with her white tights and Rebecca's Meet boots. (The white tights aren't included with the giveaway.)

This outfit is a 1914 Yom Kippur dress for Rebecca created by Etsy seller MyOwnLittleWorldToo. But of course you can use it anytime of the year, even for Hanukkah. :)

So here she is, armed with a hairbow and an elegant white dress. The brooch on the neckline is attached to the dress (so that is included).

Tada! There, I finally posted the handmade outfit for the giveaway. I have accomplished something this week. Huzzah!

Coming up next in The Doll Wardrobe.... something great..... uh, yeah... I still haven't really worked out a schedule yet for this week... but keep your eyes peeled for more posts. And Happy Pre-Thanksgiving everyone!

Rebecca Giveaway Contest:
Question for Those Who Have Entered...

Penny has been toying around with an idea about the giveaway contest and she wants to know...

For everyone who has entered to win the Rebecca Doll, which of you would be satisfied with a Rebecca with slightly wonky eyes?

Seems like a silly question since we really didn't want to give away a Rebecca with slightly wonky eyes, but a percentage of our readers didn't seem to give a hoot that her eyes weren't of equal size to each other.

So if you would still be happy to win a slightly wonky-eyed Rebecca, please submit your name again to this post as a comment. It won't be published, and we'll still keep your name in the running for the less wonky-eyed Rebecca as well.

And if there are enough of you interested in a slightly wonky-eyed Rebecca, we shall give away more than one doll.

Any questions? Did that make sense?

New Rebecca Doll for Giveaway Arrives!

We ordered another Rebecca doll to see if we could get one with more "normal" and "symmetrical" eyes. She arrived today! Thank you UPS man!

I think this one is better than the last one we received. So this doll you see in the photos below will be the one the winner receives.

Her eyes are generally, sort of, kind of the same size.
And we think she looks pretty cute. :D

In Response to Contest Questions :)

We've had some questions and comments about the contest post. So here are our answers:

1) Some of our readers are ready for winter and looking forward to massive amounts of snow. ;)

2) No, you don't have to answer any question(s) to enter this contest. All we need is your full name and an email address.

3) We are asking that people entering the contest be 18 or older because some parents might not like the idea of their child submitting their name, email, and possibly their mailing address to a stranger on the internet. Better that your parent or guardian knows what you are doing on the internet. This is for the safety and protection of the kids reading this blog.

Remember, you can still have a parent or guardian enter this contest for you even if you are younger than 18.

Anymore questions or comments???

Rebecca Doll Giveaway
Enter the Contest Here!

Ready for Winter?

Okay, okay. So Halloween hasn't even happened yet and we are all just getting used to Fall. So I can understand how most of you readers probably aren't ready for winter and snowflakes and all that holiday jazz. But I am pretty sure that everyone is ready for our next Doll Giveaway. So we are giving away Rebecca. No catch. No gimmicks. Just as a token of appreciation to one lucky reader.

The contest will start today and
end on Wednesday December 2nd, 2009.
The winner will be announced on December 2nd, 2009.

This is the situation peoples: If you are under 18 you need to have someone 18 or older enter this contest for you. This is for your protection. If you'd like to enter the giveaway, please add your first name, last name and email address as a comment on this post. This comment will not be published. Only Penny can see this comment. So your info will be kept private. But remember, if you are under 18 someone 18 or older, like a parent or guardian, should enter the contest. Not you.

There will be one winner, randomly chosen.

He/she will receive the Rebecca doll, her Meet Outfit,
her paperback book,

her accessories, and one handmade doll dress
from the 1914 time period.

Here are some photos for y'all to start dreaming about. The first Rebecca doll we bought for the giveaway is pictured here in this post. Her face isn't really 100% what we wanted. The eyes are kinda asymmetrical. So we'll order another one for y'all and hope it is better. We will add some photos of the new doll when she arrives.

The doll pictured below is not the Rebecca the winner will receive- he/she will get a better one even if Penny has to order 100 more.
:)

And we will eventually plug in some photos of the handmade dress at some point, so you know what you are entering to win.
