40% Off at Mux Originals!

One of the first giveaways we ever did here at the blog for dolly goodies direct from the seller was with the help of Mux Originals, an Etsy shop. Unfortunately that shop is closing as of July 1st. So you have less than a month to grab some of her items! Sad but true. :-(

If you have been admiring things from her shop, now is the time to buy. As the post title says, everything is 40% off now until the shop closes.

As a Thank You to Mux Originals we wanted to promote this sale here. We love the items we have purchased from you over the years and we will miss you!

Here are some pics of some of the 14 items currently for sale as of me writing this post...

And we wish you good luck in new adventures Margeaux!

Tricked Out Equestrian Outfit

Hola! Me again! Today we offer for your viewing pleasure the tricked out version of the red and white AG equestrian outfit. What have we added? Well instead of the white blouse we put the Mux Originals pirate shirt under the red blazer. And we replaced the black fuzzy helmet with the Pirate Camp top hat with red decorations. The white jodhpurs were switched out for the black and white striped leggings from Doll Closet. Now Adanya looks like she is ready to party in her funky, Gothic duds. She is feeling very Tim Burton-esque. :)

And of course, who could forget our faithful little friend Max the sheepdog who is now modeling the other top hat from Pirate Camp. He looks so dashing!

Guess what arrived with the UPS man while we were prepping this post?!?!? Our July 13th order from AG!!! Woot!!! Can you believe it got here so quickly?! Things from AG never get here this fast. Those AG warehouse people must be working 24 hour shifts or something. ;)

Anyway, as you can probably guess, we have a lot of new AG stuff to show you now. So in the coming days look for posts on those things and we will try and mix in some handmade goods into those posts. That way you see things as AG intended them and how we mix and match things. ;)

Avast Ye Mateys!
Mux Originals Pirate Costume

Ahoy! 'Tis a wonderful tide t' be a swashbuckler!

Yes, International Talk Like A Pirate Day 2010 is still over 80 days away...but it's fun to use pirate lingo and dress like a pirate at anytime of the year. ;)

However, when it comes to pirate costumes for the 18" crowd, there are not a lot of options. Luckily for us, Mux Originals released a pirate costume in the new Summer Line. Woot!

In this set you get the brown cropped pants; fancy red, black and white shirt; and black headscarf. We added in Felicity's meet shoes and a sword made from aluminum foil to complete the swashbuckling look. Now all we need is a pirate ship.... we have a Lego one around here somewhere... but none that are AG-sized.

Imagine if AG released a Pirate Ship Tree house for AGs? That would be awesome..... here is what I am thinking of..... only AG-sized....

Pictures are from Daniels Wood Land-- If you want something incredibly awesome built in your backyard, these are the people who can do the job. :)

Of course if AG doesn't want to do a Pirate Ship Tree House... they can do a Pirate Ship bed like at Trinidad South in the Caribbean Resort at Walt Disney World.....

An AG-sized version of that would be awesome!!!

I'm thinking they could do an AG Girl of the Year that is really into pirates-- maybe lives down in Florida in the Keys or maybe the U.S. Virgin Islands--- and she could have a whole bunch of piratey stuff! Pirate ship bed. Treasure chest. Eye patch. Little pieces of eight. Parrot for her shoulder. Tri-corner hat with a skull and crossbones on it.... probably too much to wish for though.

As you can probably tell, I am easily distracted by pirate stuff... but I did remember to add in the doll pictures. Please enjoy our photos of Ziva dressed as a pirate, courtesy of Mux Originals! Arrggh!

Mux Originals Sleeping Bag and Pillow

On Monday we showed you the Mux Originals undies we received-- for today we have a Mux Originals sleeping bag and pillow set. We had to get this set (despite there being pink in the color scheme) because Penny loved the turquoise color and the tiny daisies.

Any of you getting ready for summer camp this year??? Well you'll definitely be needing a dolly-sized sleeping bag and pillow for your camp cabin or tent!

We recommend purchasing a set from Mux Originals. They come in fun colors and are completely lined with very soft plush fleecy stuff. And the pillow is just perfect! There are currently a cupcake-themed set and a flower-themed set available in the shop.

Just be careful if you have a cat or small dog--- they automatically assume the soft comfy squishy thing is a bed for them. ;)

For our photo shoot we managed to distract the cat long enough for Adanya to test out the sleeping bag set. Enjoy the pics! :)

Our Mux Originals Undies!

Hola everyone! We got our order from Mux Originals (yes we couldn't resist placing an order) and we wanted to share "the goods" with you so you can see it all before the giveaway deadline ends--- We shall start with the set of 3 undies we received. :)

Yay for undies!!! We love the bright, fun colors and patterns of this set-- great for summer! There are two other sets currently available in the Mux Originals Etsy shop (one of which is like the set for the giveaway). So there are three different undies sets to choose from in total! And there are four different headband sets to choose from in the Etsy shop (one of which is like the set for the giveaway). So if you don't win on Friday-- be sure to check out the shop for undies and headbands!

Enjoy zee undies pics!

We have two other things to show you from Mux Originals---- which will be the next two posts from us. And then we will wrap up our reveal of what was in that "giant AG order." ;) We have two more AG outfits to show you and then some fun Mix and Match will follow.

Muxoriginals Blue Jacket and Striped Headband

What do we have here? Samantha Parkington posing as a modern girl of today! (Don't tell her grandmother.)

She is modeling the second cropped jacket and striped green headband from Etsy seller muxoriginals. Very fashionable items indeed! When I saw these cropped jackets in the muxoriginals store I was so impressed and knew Penny would want to get them. I'm so happy there was a sale!

Now I am going to "high-jack" this post for a little while to tell you about Rebecca Rubin. You remember how Samantha was "archived" to make room for more new AG historicals? Well coming in June is Rebecca Rubin- a 9-year-old Jewish girl living in 1914 New York. There is more to this scoop of course- so be sure to scour the web for more information (her book summaries) if you are interested. Penny said she is definitely coming home to Badger's Wood- with anything that looks good from her collection. Perhaps this is where this year's tax refund will go? Haha. I'm not sure Derek will agree with that plan.

But for now, Penny has announced that a NEW American Girl doll will be arriving at Badger's Wood before the end of January!!!!!! Obviously it is not Rebecca yet....not sure who it is though! But don't worry- she'll be up on this blog soon enough!

Lemieux Doll Boutique Jumper and Leggings

Woot! Jess is happy 2009 has finally come. The year of the rat is almost over and now we can look forward to the year of the ox on January 26th! I'm not really sure if there will be a big difference between the rat and the ox. I guess we will find out.

Ok, where was I? Oh, right- this blog about handmade clothes.....Thanks to the half-off sale previously mentioned at muxoriginals on Etsy Penny got us two cropped jackets. Here Jess is modeling the first jacket- red with tiny white polka dots. She is wearing it over a green jumper and white leggings created by Etsy seller Lemieux Doll Boutique. Very professionally made, high-quality stuff. All items together make one fabulous outfit- and a perfect color combination for the holidays. No wonder Jess looks so happy- she is all set for next Christmas!

Muxoriginals White Fairy Costume

What other fun things to we have to show you before January 2009 slips away from the us? Well, we did manage to get another fairy costume from Etsy seller muxoriginals during her half-off sale after the holidays! Now we have two fairy costumes! Yippee!

I had imagined modeling this costume with our furry white hat and some ice skates- but we had already used them below with the cherry hoodie on my stepsister Stella and I didn't want to repeat myself.

Maggie said that she wanted to model the new fairy costume, and she came up with the idea to put her hair in pigtails and wear a pair of fancy cream shoes. She looks like she is ready for a costume ball. But we aren't normally invited to costume balls. So Maggie will have to be satisfied by dancing around the house to "It's A Marshmallow World."

Muxoriginals created this costume just for us and even asked which type of decoration we wanted on the front of the bodice. Great service! And as a warning to those shoppers out in the world of the internet- she is planning on having a Valentine's sale soon and has a lot of Valentine's-related doll clothes on Etsy right now. So if you are looking for hearts- find muxoriginals on Etsy!

Muxoriginals Pioneer Dress

Cassandra needed some more dresses for school, so Penny searched our friend Etsy for some possible purchases. We found this lovely dress from Etsy seller muxoriginals. In the pictures below we are using the shoulder wrap as a head-scarf. So innovative, no?

The pattern on the dress fabric is adorable and the burnt-brick color is just beautiful on Cassie. Orange-burgundy color? Reddish-brown color? What color is that? Oh well, who knows...

If you are interested in a similar dress, I believe her store occasionally has this style available in different fabrics!

Fairy Costume

Well, inspired by the excitement of someone actually reading my blog- I have decided to do some more posts. I should be doing my homework...but we'll just pretend that those assignments will finish themselves.

So here is my sister Ellie modeling our purple fairy costume courtesy of Etsy seller muxoriginals. The seller even included a green purse as a gift! Woooot! That is one of the nice things about Etsy- some sellers include little gifts with your order. Of course, I don't always need a gift to be happy. Sometimes they include cards or notes and special wrapping. That is enough to satisfy me!

The pink shoes she is wearing were purchased from AG. They should really be purple...but we don't have a pair of purple shoes...

Below is the giftie purse- wish it was a better picture - but it just wouldn't come out right. By the way, muxoriginals has a whole line of fairy costumes available in a variety of colors. I have been tempted to buy the white costume and pretend to be a winter fairy in my ice skates...but that will have to wait until I get my allowance later this month.

Big News!

Someone actually read my blog! (Well, someone besides my immediate family members!)

Christine Broach - Etsy seller Lavenderlore - actually visited this blog! Very exciting. I had posted about the handknit items I purchased from her, which you can find below.

She just added new stuff to her Etsy shop - http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5333750 - so be sure to check it out if you are still searching for that perfect doll giftie for the holidays!

She is wearing AG glasses, a hat from Etsy seller muxoriginals, and a sweater from Etsy seller twiddlestix.
