Maple Insists: Doll Comparison No. 2

And of course, your Activity Four photos are due today... just plugging that again. :-)

So today we compare Mary (Ruthie), Maple (MyAG #55), Noelle (MyAG #48), Elizabeth (MyAG #41), and Stella (MyAG #25). Again, they are still sporting the braids that Maple insisted we all have. And since I didn't get to appear in most of these pics, I thought I'd just make sure my presence was known....

Maple and Elizabeth are still wearing the outfits they wore in the last comparison because we took the photos all at once. Maple's top is from Liberty Jane, and her belt and embroidered jeans are from All Dolled Up Doll Clothes. As we said before, Terrie can pretty much embroider anything smaller than 5" on doll clothing for you. So if you have a specific design or idea in mind be sure to contact her. :-) Elizabeth's outfit is from The Dolly Stand, and her shoes are from Megori Girls.

At the left, Mary is wearing an outfit from The Dolly Stand and boots from Megori Girls. Then there is Maple, followed by Noelle who is wearing a Sew Urban Designs top, L'Atelier de Sitara paint-splattered jeans, and shoes from AG. Next is Elizabeth and the final girl is Stella -- sporting a tank top, corset, and plaid skirt from Sew Urban Designs that we mix-and-matched together. The saddle shoes are just the standard ones you find on Ebay.

Faces for comparison...

Thanks for looking at all the pictures everyone -- hope they were helpful!
Stay tuned for our long post of Activity Four entry photos -- that should be up either Tuesday or Wednesday, after all of them are sent in. :-)

Cupcake Cutie Pie Wrap-Top Holiday Dresses

Holiday? Which holiday? Yep, we took these pictures in December as well-- four dresses that we bought for the girls to wear for the holidays. And we haven't posted about them yet. We feel... so guilty... but we are trying to make up for lost time now. ;-)

We purchased these dresses from Etsy seller Cupcake Cutie Pie, a Liberty Jane partner who is using the Heritage Doll Fashions Wrap-Top dress pattern. (Which we ♡) Go to libertyjanepatterns.com to find this pattern.

Heritage4 made the initial dress on the cover of the pattern booklet that you see above (in a wonderful fabric). Here is my bossy advice for today: Seamstresses should really try to use some striped fabrics for this pattern like she did. The dress really pops and flatters the doll because she has the stripes going in all different directions. And note how the vertical stripes in the center piece visually pull in the waist of the doll giving her that hourglass figure that AG dolls lack -- remember, finding a way to define the doll's waist makes the outfit more visually appealing.

Also, she chooses a contemporary, trendy type of fabric that we might see in human clothing (a nice sundress like this) in the mall today. Anyway point is: Heritage4 knows what she is doing -- Mimic her! Mimic her! Mimicry is the best flattery after all. ;-)

We show the holiday wrap top dresses on both AGs and Karito Kid dolls so that you can see that the dress and boleros fit them as well (although more loosely) and how tall the KKs are in comparison to the AGs. Three of the dresses came with bolero jackets and all of them came with shoes -- all of which even fit the KK feeties.

These are really well-made dresses, in great bold fabrics, and with wonderful accessories (one even came with a headband). We love the details of the contrasting fabrics for the center section which you see on three of them and the contrasting shoulder straps as well. Sometimes the main thread is even contrasting so you can see the lines of the dress better. :-) The great thing about this pattern is how you can play with the different pieces of it like this -- and Cupcake Cutie Pie has really shown us how great this dress pattern can be. We highly recommend this seller -- they have a great eye for color combinations and offer many awesome items. Check out the shop today!

Three Dresses...

We return with more pics.... btw we posted three times on Monday, so be sure to check all of those things out. We were overly productive on the last day of February. ;-)

Today we have three dresses for you-- the Melody Valerie Let's Take the Train! dress, the Liberty Jane Faraway Downs dress, and the Melody Valerie Across the Sea dress, which includes the special freshwater pearl necklace. These dresses are being modeled by Karen, Noelle, and Zoe, respectively-- from left to right. And again, you can tell we took these photos in December by the decor of peppermint candles! :-D

MyAG Ruby & Ribbon Outfit and
2010 Holiday Accessories

Me again! Today we continue our holiday posts with our introduction to the MyAG 2010 Holiday Ruby & Ribbon dress and this year's Holiday Accessories. The outfit is being modeled by Noelle Bonacorsi, our MyAG #48 (sorry for showing her again Claire.... wink).

The main piece of attire for Ruby Ribbons is the turtleneck, short-sleeve, red sweater dress with a silver ribbon accent. It is a very pretty dress. Once we saw the AG pic without the silver sweater over it we knew we wanted it. The outfit comes with the silver cropped cardigan you see on Sun Ji in our pictures, as well as the fancy hairband, shiny red shoes, and sparkly fishnet tights.

The 2010 Holiday Accessories set includes a miniaturized Jan Brett fully-illustrated "The Night Before Christmas" book, a giftbox with three sets of earrings (including two pairs of stick-ons for dolls without pierced ears), the furry white clutch purse, and the three-strand pearl bracelet which was a bit difficult to get on Noelle. The crown sitting on the chair is the hair accessory for the Snowflake Ball Gown Sun Ji is wearing. And FYI, the hoop earrings Noelle is wearing come from the accessories giftbox.

Overall, both the Snowflake Ball Gown and Ruby & Ribbon Dress are pretty awesome and it would be difficult to choose just one to get this year. Especially when the accessories set could really be used for either dress. But if you can only get one... the simplest way to pick would be to decide whether you prefer blue or red on your dolls.... :)

Please enjoy our red, white, and blue holiday photos below and stay tuned for tomorrow's post when we will show you two more wintry ensembles never-before-seen.... on this blog.... heehee. One was purchased from AG in 2010, the other in 2009.... can you guess what they are????

L'Atelier de Sitara Party: Part Four

Claire guessed correctly! Our two final guests are Noelle Bonacorsi and Elizabeth Cole (to be renamed). They have arrived with a travel-size version of the Operation game-- one of our favorites!

Noelle is wearing a brown and tan wrap-around shirt, and the Sara skirt from L'Atelier de Sitara. Elizabeth is wearing the Winter Roses tank top and the Galaxie jeans, also handmade by Sitara. All four pieces are fantastic.

We love the style of the wrap-around shirts, very modern, very "in" and they are not being offered by anyone else as far as we know. The Sara skirt is also quite innovative with its add-on "chains" which drape from the waistline-- definitely a boutique touch there that really makes the skirt stand-out in a crowd. The Winter Roses tank fits right into the embellished top trend that is so popular today. AG tried to make one with its new Holiday 2010 shirt and pants recital outfit, but failed miserably in comparison to the rosettes on this tank.

And finally, the Galaxie jeans. I have to say that we have been consistently wowed by Liberty Jane jeans. This is true. But Sitara's idea to make paint-splattered designer jeans for dolls is something of true genius. Definitely a smart move and something worth repeating (and of course, not just in white-- any color paint splatters would work brilliantly).

To complete our outfits, we have added on a one-of-a-kind necklace from Sitara to Noelle's outfit. It has a gold chain and a sparkly black stone pendant. So pretty! Noelle's shoes are the bronze flats from Liberty Jane. Elizabeth is wearing a white necklace and white tennis sneaks also from Liberty Jane. As you can tell, we buy a lot of shoes from their website. ;)

Enjoy zee pictures and thank you for attending all four parts of our L'Atelier de Sitara Party!
