AG Wig Swapping Pics Video/Slideshow

We did a quick compilation video of some of
our Instagram pics that have dolls in swapped wigs.

It might be useful for people who want to make custom dolls, and are wondering what a doll might look like in a certain wig.

Thanks for visiting us today!!!

Honest Editorial:
The Scary Paypal Donate Button

Hi everybody!

Sorry for our lack of presence on this blog!

We've been having a sort of life crisis -- well, really a continuation of our continuing life crisis.

We tried to do The Doll Wardrobe Blog Youtube videos, but we discovered it is really, really difficult to motivate ourselves to do that because of our anxiety.

Don't ask why -- we are just anxious about everything, including Youtube. Even though Youtube isn't scary, we are still scared of it. We are weird like that.

Clearly writing on this blog has been the most successful avenue for us, emotionally and creatively.

We want to dedicate more time to this blog but we feel so guilty about doing that because it doesn't bring in any income to the household.

We thought Youtube videos might help with that, but again, we can't motivate ourselves to make them. So we are feeling like losers about that.

Today we decided to add a Paypal Donate Button to the blog's right side menu.

We never wanted to ask you guys for money -- we'd rather you spend your extra dough on dolls, and Etsy items, and crafts, and sewing, and your own businesses and enterprises -- but we also don't want to feel guilty about putting our creative energies into this blog.

We want to make the blog more successful.

We don't want to ignore it like we have been doing out of financial guilt.

So we took the plunge and added the scary Paypal Donate button.

Dun dun dunnnnn!!!!

Yes, we kind of see it as us begging for money.

But the more positive way to view it is that we are asking to be paid for the time we dedicate to the blog. It's weird, since this is a job we gave ourselves, haha.

"Can you pay me for a job I decided to do on my own?" -- that seems illogical, right?

But then again, other bloggers do get paid to generate content, and they use those Paypal Donate Buttons. And they are still successful. So what are we so scared of, right???

Well.....angst aside....

If you would like to donate to us and support this blog, please see the right side menu. You do not even need to have a Paypal account to donate to us.

We are planning to use the rest of the year to really work on this site and see if it can generate any income for the household.

So feel free to donate today, or wait and see if you are enjoying our new content, and then donate.

Obviously donating to us is not a requirement!

And we will still be publishing our content whether you donate or not!

But we'd really appreciate your support.

It would mean a lot to us.

Thank you for your time!

Stay tuned for more posts this week!

*Fingers crossed for a brighter future*

:-)

Check Out Our Screencasts - Craft Store Discussions!

What happens when The Doll Wardrobe Blog visits a craft store
without any money in her bank account???

Well, she takes a bunch of photographs and then makes screencasts about them!

(I first typed screencats up there ^.)

What is a screencast?

It's when you record your computer screen and your voice at the same time.

It can be helpful for online tutorials, gaming walkthroughs, etc.

But for us -- we are going to walk you through our photographs at the craft store!

What items did we find that might work for the AG dolls?

Were there Halloweenie things????

Furniture?

Knick-knacks?

Inspirational ideas?

Find out by checking out our first two screencats here:

Or screencasts....

Thank you for watching!!!

Our Fifth Youtube Vlog!

We have made five whole vlogs!

A round of applause!

Okay, don't get too excited.

We are still learning how to do this, so be patient with our horrid vloggin skilz.

In which we continue our exploration of "The Random Bag of Stuff" -- prepare yourself for viewing more random doll clothes, including a dark teal wool peacoat from Surfin' Monkey Designs based on a Liberty Jane pattern.

Hopefully we didn't mess up the end of this video, like we did on the last one. Cough, cough.

Our Fourth Youtube Vlog!

This one is a bit more choppy because we kept screwing up.

And we cut off the end in a bizarre manner that we couldn't figure out how to fix....

We are professionals, really. No, really.

Okay, not really.

We talk about wigs, hoarding, ironing, and show you some more doll clothes and stuff from "The Random Bag of Stuff."

Our First Youtube Vlog!

Don't get too excited....

This is just the blog's main human talking about random doll stuff....

Not really earth-shattering news in here....

But if you want to hear the main human's voice and occasionally see her hands, this is the video to watch....

Oh, and if you want to see some things we have in a bag full of random doll stuff....be sure to click "play." It will be more fun than a colonoscopy. I can promise you that!

More to come, so stay tuned.

If there are any questions you want us to answer for you in these vlogs, please free to let us know in the comments here on Blogger or on Youtube.

Thank you for stopping by friends!!!

Store Trip Updates and Check Out Midoria's Youtube!

Sup peoples.

So we went to the DC American Girl Store on Saturday - Woot!
And we oogled all the lovely things there.

We picked up the two prize dolls for the FDC - Woot!

And we got Saige's Starter Collection, her doggie, and a #56 for ourselves (we needed self-gifts -- it was a long, hard week).

All of that stuff was shipped to ourselves, so we don't have it in our furry paws yet, haha. But we do have Saige's Paint Set, PJs, and Sparkle Dress here to review. We will work on those posts this week.

In the meantime, we started posting DC Store pics on our new site: http://dwagstorepics.blogspot.com/

We put a tab for that site up at the top of this blog in our "Pages" under the header.

And we are in the process of posting more and more store pics. So there will be A LOT on there once all is said and done. Check it out every now and then this week. :-)

Also in the meantime, if you want a good review of Saige -- Check out Midoria's Channel on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/MissMidoria?feature=watch

She has a review of Saige: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7HN739qSlk

And a video of doing her hair: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7VvrqS1-RM

Check out the vids today!

Happy Halloween Post with
Monster High Slideshow!

So tomorrow we leave on a jet plane for Florida. We are going to try and do another post before we leave, but that may or may not happen given our time constraints.

But we wanted to say "Happy Halloween!" and post about some of our newer Monster High dolls. If you follow the blog you know that the "Non-AG Stuff" tab is about our MH collection, which has grown exponentially this year. But we haven't posted pics of the new dolls. :-(

In an effort to right that wrong, we have four of them in this Youtube musical slideshow for your entertainment. We'll post it on the main page here and on the "Non-AG Stuff" page. The dolls featured are Spectra Vondergeist, Holt Hyde, Ghoulia Yelps, and Jackson Jekyll. We know Jekyll and Hyde aren't technically supposed to be different young men -- but let's just pretend they are for the purpose of this video. Haha. ;-)

So again, Happy Halloween everybody, we hope you enjoy our video, and have a wonderful weekend and holiday!

Stay tuned for more DW fun -- either tomorrow or when we come back after Nov 6th!

Updates, Requests, Polls, Questions

Haha. Do you like my title? So we have a lot of housekeeping to do today. No fun doll pictures. But lots of info for everyone. :-)

1) We added new tabs to the top of the blog under the header to help you find our Youtube Channel, our Facebook Page, our current photo contest info, and Maple's Story Blog. Hopefully those are helpful.

2) If you haven't subscribed to our Facebook page or our Youtube Channel yet, please do! Also, if you have a Youtube or Facebook page you'd like to tell us about, please comment below so others can know about it too. :-)

3) Pippaloo's and All Dolled Up's Facebook pages are seeking more "Likes" -- so please check those pages out and "Like" them. We think its a great idea to have a Facebook page if you have your own doll clothing or accessory shop -- maybe you should think of starting one if you are a shopkeeper. :-)

4) On our Facebook page we do a lot of "shout-outs" to items being sold on Etsy and Ebay. If you are a shopkeeper and want us to do "shout-outs" for your products please let us know. You can comment below or email us at nora.demington@gmail.com. We do it for free, just to advertise things we like.

5) Our two recent polls have ended and we took them off the blog today. Here are the results....

Kanani still has a bit of an edge over Marie-Grace and Cecile in popularity.... but obviously a lot of people are interested in other dolls than those three! Perhaps the MyAG #55 that everyone likes or one of the other new MyAG's? Hmmmm......

We thought these polls would give us an idea of which doll to include in the next giveaway... but it is still a mystery since the three main girls basically tied in popularity... which leads to....

6) Our Photo Contest winner choose Kanani and she is currently being packaged up to be sent off to her new owner. :-)  So now we have MyAG #26 and Ivy left with us for the next giveaway. We have started a new poll to determine who will be the third doll... it lists Kanani, Cecile, Marie-Grace and MyAG #55 as the possibilities. So if you'd like to see one of those dolls included in the Fall/Winter 2011 Doll Giveaway -- please vote today!

This poll closes in a week -- so act fast!!!!

Youtube Video Reminder for our Current Giveaways

It's Wednesday evening already. Where is this week going? Time flies when you are blogging/making Youtube videos... Why does it always take me all afternoon to make one of these things? It is just a glorified slideshow. Haha.

So we wanted to make a Youtube video to remind everyone that there are ten days left to enter our Feb/March Giveaways-- one AM-PM Creations doll outfit and one Wood Shack Studio doll beach chair are currently being offered. So enter today!

Here are the linkies:
http://thedollwardrobe.blogspot.com/2011/02/am-pm-creations-outfit-giveaway-enter.html
http://thedollwardrobe.blogspot.com/2011/02/wood-shack-studio-beach-chair-giveaway.html

Last day to enter these giveaways is March 19th!

And here is the video....

I have "borrowed" the song "Gee" from the Korean Pop group Girls' Generation for this video. You can watch the original music video for this song below... it is fun (even if you don't know Korean) with lots of dancing and cute clothes -- the girls are clothing store mannequins come to life and essentially they sing about how they have fallen in love (with the "employee of the month")....
