Photo Number One

"This is the coronation of Empress Josephine."

Photo Number Two

"I decided to do a photo from the Regency time period, since I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen.  Emma and Charlie are taking a walk in the countryside together, enjoying the fresh air and the beauty of nature all around them. :) "

Photo Number Three

"This is Pocahontas and John Smith back in the wilderness."

Photo Number Four

"Samantha and Jip"

Photo Number Five

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away....

"Kanani is SUPER excited because she just finished her Jedi training and is now a master Jedi!"

Photo Number Six

"Yeva and her sled, 1960s Soviet Union
Coat is custom Melody Valerie Couture, sled is a vintage find from a Moscow flea market."

Photo Number Seven

Rebecca

Photo Number Eight

"Kit is helping out at the soup kitchen.
Kit is handing shoes to a poor gentleman, and giving water to everyone.
Jessica is serving the soup."

Photo Number Nine

"Today Nicole decided to pretend to be Betsy Ross Working on the first American flag. She's worked hard on it for quite a while. Looks like it's almost done!"

Photo Number Ten

"I recently did a photo shoot with my three historical dolls displaying how they went to 'school' way back when. When I took Kaya's photo, I knew that in order to be authentic it should show her something all Nez Perce girls did- learn about plants, animals, and the rest of the natural world. Here, Kaya is examining a leaf, probably to check for poisons or if it could be an addition to a delicious meal."

Photo Number Eleven

"Coming to the UK was already huge enough... but to see the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II? Long story short, Ella (the one with the blonde ginormous hair-do) is somehow related to the queen. (Her Aunt's cousins' niece's sister's grandma I believe) They flew to England, and stayed in the fanciest room available and then prepared for the special occasion (Like their dresses? The Latest English Fashion, of course! ) As they stood on the red velvet carpets, sparkling chandeliers above them, they watched the elegant Queen Elizabeth stroll down the aisle. That was a moment not to be forgotten. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!!

And still today, their very portrait hangs upon the wall in Buckingham Palace....."

Photo Number Twelve

"Martha Washington having tea."

Thanks for looking at the entries: Please vote today!

The last day to vote will be October 22 and
the winner will be announced soon after that day.

Time Warp Photo Contest!
AG Gift Card Prize!

Sup peoples! As a further tribute to AG's 25th Anniversary and to honor Cecile and Marie-Grace's arrival in the AG Historical collection we are announcing our next photo contest.

The theme is "History," as in going back in time, i.e. time-warpy-ness.

So your photo can either be....

1) a historical doll set-up/ room/ scene/ display/ diorama
and/or
2) a scene depicting any historic event before 1980

It does not have to fit into one of the AG historical periods -- it can be anything. Washington Crossing the Delaware, Salem Witch Trials, Signing of the Declaration of Independence. Whatevs. And not even American History. If you want to depict the Battle of Waterloo with dolls, feel free to do so. Haha.

There will be one winner and she/he will receive a $20 American Girl Gift Card from us. Yay!

For this contest anybody can enter -- but if you are younger than 18 please get your parent/guardian's permission to participate, and if you are younger than 13, please get your parent/guardian's help with participation.

Contest Photos Are Due Monday October 10th!
Email them to nora.demington@gmail.com

Y'all will be voting again for your fav photos, so after the photos are posted a week of voting will commence. Then Penny will choose a winner from the top 50%.

Things to Keep in Mind:

Using Photoshop and other photo editing programs is fine.

You can include more than one doll in your photos.

Your dolls do not have to be American Girl dolls.

If you do use AG dolls -- they do not have to be from the historical line, you can use MyAGs  in historical dress/ in historic scenes.

No human faces in the photos please -- remember: privacy is important! Hands are okay -- but no actually identifiable people.

Our email address is nora.demington@gmail.com. You will be using this to send in photos and to vote.

If you are younger than 13 have your parent/guardian email the photos to us (remember: internet safety is important!).

We will be posting the photos here at The Doll Wardrobe - so make sure your photo is something that you don't mind if the whole world sees it. (Again, this is why you and/or your family shouldn't be in the photo.)

Readers will be asked to vote for their favorite photo. Voting will be done by email -- to vote you just email me at nora.demington@gmail.com and say something like "I vote for photo #8." Everyone will have a week to vote, from the point when we post the photos.

The Doll Wardrobe does not share or sell your email to anyone. Only Penny sees your emails.

At the end of the contest we will email the winner for her/his shipping address. (This is why it is important you have a parent/guardian's permission to enter if you are under 18).
