Kanani's New Party Dress!

Yep. We ordered a new party dress for Kanani from All Dolled Up Doll Clothes. The comment on our post on the AG version that the Hawaiian Kanani is bizarrely wearing velvet got us thinking. And then Penny's sister suggested a classic sarong dress instead, made of lighter fabric. So we asked Terrie if she could make us one. And that turned into three because we liked three of the fabrics! Haha.

Here are Maple, Kanani, and Alice modeling them for us. It is the "Moonlight in Maui" dress on the "It's a Girl's World" page on the ADUDC website in case you want one (or three) for yourself. ;-)

Maple sports the white and black version; Kanani sparkles in the blue and green dress; and Alice looks stunning in the yellow and black frock. These girls are ready for a party! Bring on the luau music!

Thanks Terrie!

Can you believe Kanani is only here for 67 more days? Where does the time go?

MyAG 2-in-1 Surf Swimsuit and Accessory Set

Hola! Happy St. Patty's Day everybody! Hope y'all are wearing the green so you don't get pinched. ;-)

Today we have pictures of MyAG's 2-in-1 Surf Swimsuit and the accessory set (which you have to buy separately). We love this set and knew we had to have it -- it is blue, green and white. No pink! Vamos a celebrar, mis amigos!

Currently the swimsuit is on sale from $34 to $28 for this week's Spotlight Savings. The accessories are not on sale though and will still set you back $32. I know, I know. Insane prices for something mass-produced in China.

The swimsuit comes with the bikini top and bottom, the wetsuit top, the skirt, and the flip-flops. The accessories include the sunglasses, bag, sunscreen, towel, snorkel flippers, goggles, and mouthpiece. It is an exciting and useful set for dolls that go to the beach (or even the backyard pool)-- but $32 is a little steep for mostly plastic.

Anyways, we wanted to highlight the set because 1) it is on sale this week and 2) it is a great accompaniment to Kanani's collection. Definitely good accessories for a Hawaiian doll and her friends, or just any doll living in or going on vacation to a sunny climate. ;-)

Here are zee pics of Kanani and Alice modeling the swimsuit sets and accessories!

Thanks for visiting and remember -- Saturday is the last day to enter the Feb/March giveaways -- Time is running out! Winners will be announced on Sunday - Exciting!

2 New MyAG Outfits and
Discussion of Rompers

Hola! Bienvenida a viernes! Willkommen bis Freitag! Welcome to Friday!

Today we will start with pictures of two of the new MyAG outfits that have been recently released. Sabrina is sporting a new brown, curly wig and wearing the Sea Breeze outfit which comes with the blue and white romper, the red bucket hat, and some fly loop sandals. We love these shoes! For $28 you would think this outfit would at least come with a bracelet too, but no dice there.

Alice (who has been on vacation for awhile in the south of France) returns to show off the Tennis Skirt outfit which includes the top, skirt, hairband, wristband, tennis racket, sneakers, socks, and tennis ball. It also comes with yellow lycra undies that match the fabric and color of the top, but the skirt bulges out when you put the undies on. So for our picture purposes Alice is going commando. All of these cute bits and bobs will set you back $34.

That's a lot of dough... $62. Though we are happy to have the tiny tennis ball and racket. And both pairs of shoes are great. But essentially you can make both outfits for a lot less money, which is why we are going to discuss the romper in the second half of this post. For now... please enjoy the pics of Sabrina and Alice!

Ah the romper, the onesie for grown-ups... a very popular spring/summer fashion right now for both girls and trendy women.... here is a slideshow of human girl rompers currently for sale from places like Justice, J. Crew and Delia's.....

And here is a slideshow of women's rompers from places like Urban Outfitters and Bloomingdale's....

There is an AG market for these out there. I can tell you that people were really excited about the one Sabrina is wearing. It is a really flattering style and design -- especially the segmented construction and buttons. So here is my helpful advice for seamstresses for today-- study the MyAG romper, study the ones currently for sale (in the mall or online), and try them out yourself. There are many different styles and fabrics you can experiment with. And they also make nice swimsuit cover-ups if you wanted to sell them as a set with a swimsuit.

Etsy seller SuzymStudio has already branched into the world of rompers with her Military version which you can see in the video below...

AGFMB Member Special Feature: Tomi Jane

Have you ever felt like you found a treasure?

When we saw that AG Fans Message Board member Tomi Jane was selling two of her creations it certainly felt like finding treasure! It was so exciting! Tomi Jane has been creating wonderful handmade clothing for her AG dolls and displaying them on the AGFMB left and right. She makes impressive stuff. And when I say impressive, I mean impressive!

Please click here to see her flickr albums (they will knock your socks off): http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomijane/

So what did we manage to purchase for our dolls? Tomi Jane had created 3 dresses from one pioneer era pattern, one in blues, one in purples, and one in red and brown. She decided to offer up the purple and red and brown dresses for sale on the AGFMB. As you can see from our pictures below, we managed to get the red and brown one. It is amazing!

The dress is created from a pattern Tomi Jane drafted herself, and it has a yoked bodice, growth tucks, and cluny lace at sleeves. The apron features hand feather-stitching in red, which you can see up-close in one of our pictures. The shawl is soft wool, fringed, and hand hemmed. In addition to the dress, apron, and shawl, Tomi Jane was also kind enough to include a crocheted off-white wrap-around vest-shawl. It is close in concept to Addy's "heart-warmer"- a type of shawl that was popular in the mid-1800s.

Needless to say there was a bit of a conflict over who would get to model this one of a kind masterpiece of handmade dolly duds... but Alice won out because she is new here and hasn't had as many chances as Cassie to wear fantastic pioneer-era clothing. So we hope you enjoy our pictures below of Alice, her new duds, our Valentine's Day roses, and Alice's new wool toy "Thor the Sheep." :D

Thank you so much Tomi Jane for this magnificent ensemble. We love everything about it, but especially the rich, warm colors of the fabrics you chose. We look forward to seeing more of your creations!

Though she does occasionally sell her handmade items and/or patterns, Tomi Jane is currently attempting to create one version of every pattern she owns for her own AG dolls. So that is quite the task to keep her busy. Good luck with your projects Tomi Jane!!!

Alice's Terristouch Pioneer Dress

When we named Alice as Alice Wilder Baldwin, we thought it would be fun to have her time travel between modern day and the pioneer era: 1860s-70s in the Old West. So she will occasionally join our Cassie as a pioneer girl.

Alice's first pioneer outfit is a blue dress, plaid bonnet, and white apron courtesy of Etsy seller Terristouch. Though we already have similar dresses, it is difficult to resist such a nice blue color and such well-made items. In the pictures below you will see Alice, with and without apron, posing with her new horse, Mad Hatter. Yes, we know we are muddling up our Alice literary references, but this makes it more fun. Now all we need is a little horsey top hat for him to wear. ;)

Ye old photo as a fun bonus:

And a close-up....

Thank you Terri for another great outfit!

And don't forget, tomorrow, Saturday February 6th is the last day to enter the Lanie(s) giveaway!

Lira Meets Alice

Hola!
This post is about Lira meeting Alice for the first time, as staged in front of Kit's desk. ;) We really like this desk. It mixes up our normal mode of operation for photo shoots (mugshots against the white walls.... heehee). Furniture is definitely a neat prop to have in photos, but we don't always have the time to set it up after we do all the wardrobe changes and hair fixes for the dollies. :(

For this meet and greet, Lira is wearing the Sparkly Star pink tee and roll-cuff jeans (unrolled) from AGPNY and Alice is wearing the Purchase with Purchase Pink Hearts Outfit from AGPNY. So basically I am using this post as a way to show you these two outfits on our dolls. :) You also see Sugar and some more of those toys from last time in these shots. The vase on the top of the desk is from Greece- Lira's father got it for her. He is an archaeologist and goes to Greece every summer on vacation to excavate Ancient Greek antiquities. In Athens they sell these "mini" vase reproductions for the tourists. :)

So here is Lira Sartorius meeting Alice Wilder Baldwin for the first time... and some shots of random stuff in the scene.....

Here are some shots of Alice and her outfit...

And in this last slideshow are some shots of Lira and her outfit...

Two more weeks until the Lanie giveaway winners are announced! Anyone excited??? Next week we will show you the handmade items which will be included with the dolls... once we finish up that photo shoot.... :D

Some of Our AGPNY Purchases

Tada! A third post on our NY trip, woohoo! I am being so productive.
This is our slideshow of some of our purchases from the AG store. Not all of them are here; some are being sent separately because we wanted to play with them in the city. Those pictures will come later, after that package arrives. :)

So what do you see below???

I shall make a list, because that is probably the easiest way to explain what you are seeing.
1. The big brown box from the UPS man, with plenty of plastic bags full of air. They weren't really doing much of a job "cushioning" the items inside the box.....but let's just try and pretend that they were....
2. Ooooo, stuff in the box!!!
3. Ooooo, stuff out of the box! Sugar and Pepper puppies. Couldn't resist these cuties for our doggie collection!
4. Glitter Star Tee store exclusive
5. Roll Cuff Jeans store exclusive
6. Pink Hearts Outfit, the special Purchase with Purchase deal for $15
7. Downtown Backpack store exclusive
8. Berry Doll Hoodie store exclusive

(Yes, there is a lot of pink going on in these store exclusives, but Penny bought them anyway because she is a sucker for in-store items that she can't order online. And they aren't the light pastel pink that she really doesn't care for. But trust me, there was 20 minutes of her in the store debating whether or not to buy them because of the colors.... hee hee.)

9. Silver Jacket store exclusive
10. Doll Tea Set store exclusive
11. Pretty Party earrings
12. Black Riding Boots (2 slides)
13. Sporty Sneakers, nice lavender color (not pink, woohoo!)

14. And two brand-new fantastic dolls! The JLY #24, who is Alice Wilder Baldwin (see Laura Ingalls Wilder wikipedia article for more info.... wink wink). She is going to be a time-traveling modern girl who goes back to the pioneer days quite a bit. And the JLY #28, who is Karen Navarre (cousin of Arista Lee Navarre). These dolls are just so pretty and it was a blast being able to pick them out in person. We wish we could do that for every doll we buy, but alas, that is not really easily done. :(

So please enjoy the photos below and stay tuned for more photos of the rest of our AGPNY purchases and a lot more photos of Alice and Karen!
