Recent Purchases by The DW

So we have been quite off our game since we lost our loved one back on November 12th.
We decided to do a little Etsy retail therapy in addition to our recent Ebay retail therapy.

Our argument to ourself is that it will be a way to get interested in the blog, the dolls, the clothing, and well, life, again. I am sure many of you have been in similar life ruts one time or another. :-)

And while shopping is really not the best way to treat depression, haha, it makes us feel better and we get excited imagining what our girls will look like in their new clothing, and how to make new outfits from the items.

So without further (whining) ado we give you our recently ordered items:
(which have not yet come to us, so don't expect our pics, haha...these are the pics by the shopkeepers, hopefully they don't mind us using them and plugging their shop for them)

Saige's Painting Set Review, Part Tres

Last part of the review peeps!

So we showed you the pristine Fox and Family artist apron in Part Dos.

Then in our doll fantasy world, CeCe had a good ol' time painting up a whole bunch of things and working on a lot of arty projects.

In reality, we smeared acrylic paints in various colors all over the thing. ;-)
And then let it dry.

DW Top Tip: If you want to see any of these shots larger, simply click on one and you will be brought to a larger slideshow that you can click through.

CeCe's tee shirt is from Etsy's Mon Chat Dans La Lune.

Her red pants are from Etsy's According to Emma.

Apron on.

Phew. All three parts done.

Doesn't it look like CeCe had some fun??? Haha.

Thanks for visiting us today!

Stay tuned for more Saige Collection Reviews!

Saige's Painting Set Review, Part Dos

Hola again peeps!

Today we show you the Saige Painting Set with a doll, so you can see the scale.
Technically the easel should be taller, as it is a bit low for the AGs to use realistically. But it is taller than the other wooden easels we already owned, so that is nice.

DW Top Tip: If you want to see any of these shots larger, simply click on one and you will be brought to a larger slideshow that you can click through.

The easel should be as tall as CeCe or taller, since she isn't an adult.
You might be able to argue it is a sitting-style easel. But we all know that the dolls can't sit with their legs bent in a way to actually sit at this easel.
You might want to place the easel on top of a platform or box to make it a bit higher.

Fyi, the white tray on the easel flips up and then the easel folds up, to pack flat.

CeCe is wearing her artist's apron, custom-ordered from Etsy's Fox and Family/Acorn Soup.

Jane would probably make more of these if you asked her. :-)

The little paintbrushes and paint tubes fit perfectly in the front pockets.

CeCe's tee shirt is from Etsy's Mon Chat Dans La Lune.

Her red pants are from Etsy's According to Emma.

Part Tres of this Painting Review will be the aftermath of us "messing up" the apron.
Our main issue with all of these artist's supplies is that they are not messy.

When artists create, they tend to make a mess. It is part of the fun!
So our plan all along was to "mess up" this apron.

Stay tuned to see what it looks like after CeCe has some painting fun!

Thanks for visiting us today!

Meet Needa and Nichelle!

Hola peeps!

Today we formally introduce you to Needa (MyAG #47) and Nichelle (MyAG #57). Needa is Sundari's sister, and Nichelle is one of the Ingletons, related to Mina and Beatrice. Gosh, all of these dolls are ones we need to feature more on The DW. But for now we'll start with a series of posts on Needa and Nichelle.

On the left Nichelle is wearing a Royal Doll Boutique striped shirt and awesome red pants from According to Emma. Her robot necklace is one we bought from Forever 21 and then downsized for dolls. On the right, Needa is wearing a shirt from Sitara and jeans custom-made for us from Liberty Jane

We've had these jeans for awhile - they were featured here: http://thedollwardrobe.blogspot.com/2010/03/liberty-jane-custom-denim-project.html Holey Cheez, that was over two years ago! How time flies....

Needa has found Nichelle to tell her that they are going on a trip.

"Really? Where are we going?!" Nichelle said.

"To my great-grandmother's house. It is her 90th birthday party and she invited everybody to come visit," Needa replied.

"That's great! I'm really excited. We get to skip school right?" Nichelle asked.

"You shouldn't be excited to miss school," Needa answered. "You should feel sad you are missing out on wonderful learning opportunities."

"Uh. Any kid in their right mind would be excited to miss school."

"Well, that's besides the point. You'll have to pack your bags for a week-long trip and make sure you fix your hair," Needa said.

"Fix my hair? Before the trip? What's wrong with it?" Nichelle asked.

"No, fix your hair now. It's messy and has flyaways. It is bugging me," Needa answered.

"Well I didn't brush it yet today. I just woke up and got dressed 5 minutes ago."

"It's 3pm," Needa said.

"Yeah. So?" Nichelle replied.

Needa rolled her eyes in response.

...

Stay tuned for more of their photo story and
plenty more outfits!
