Store Trip Updates and Check Out Midoria's Youtube!

Sup peoples.

So we went to the DC American Girl Store on Saturday - Woot!
And we oogled all the lovely things there.

We picked up the two prize dolls for the FDC - Woot!

And we got Saige's Starter Collection, her doggie, and a #56 for ourselves (we needed self-gifts -- it was a long, hard week).

All of that stuff was shipped to ourselves, so we don't have it in our furry paws yet, haha. But we do have Saige's Paint Set, PJs, and Sparkle Dress here to review. We will work on those posts this week.

In the meantime, we started posting DC Store pics on our new site: http://dwagstorepics.blogspot.com/

We put a tab for that site up at the top of this blog in our "Pages" under the header.

And we are in the process of posting more and more store pics. So there will be A LOT on there once all is said and done. Check it out every now and then this week. :-)

Also in the meantime, if you want a good review of Saige -- Check out Midoria's Channel on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/MissMidoria?feature=watch

She has a review of Saige: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7HN739qSlk

And a video of doing her hair: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7VvrqS1-RM

Check out the vids today!

Thanks for the promotion. I'm sorry I missed you in D.C.! I ended up with a nasty cold shortly after missing you, so maybe it's good we didn't share the same air!

We were getting over a cold that day, haha. It seems everyone sick this month!

Sorry we missed you too! Love your vids!

So that's everything except for the horse and the balloon. Will you get them at some point?

This is unrelated, but do you know of any Etsy shops that sell doll clothes similar to Fox and Family's Tokyo Street Fashion clothes but more suited to younger girls? Vivienne is jealous of Saige's new stuff and wants new things too. :)

We probably won't get the balloon and horse. The balloon wasn't really what we wanted. It is really large and kinda pointless. A nice display piece. But we'd rather buy Caroline's boat and use something else to make it into an airship for Maple. The balloon is just kinda too big to be used for our airship project.

The horse is really nice and looks better in person than the AG pics. But we have several horses already and we don't have the room to play with them and display them. :-(

If you want Tokyo Street Fashion, but for a younger girl -- I would still ask Jane of Fox and Family. She does wonderful custom work. You can give her an idea of what you are looking for. Maybe send her some pics. Say you want leggings, or longer skirts, maybe for a younger girl.

Honestly, whatever you have in mind -- I am confident Jane could make it for you!

I agree with you about the balloon. It's pretty and definitely something unique, but I don't think it has much play value. And it's good that the horse looks better for real, because he looks a little funny in the magazine.

The problem with asking for a custom order is that my dolls are paper dolls, not real American Girl dolls. I use the pictures as inspiration for making clothes for them, and I'm unsure about how to adapt the Tokyo Street Fashion designs to something more suitable to my tastes. I have an idea in mind, but not a concrete design, which is why I wanted to know about shops that sell similar items.

Ahhh. I get it now. Well Fox and Family's core designs are based on original Liberty Jane designs of Japanese street fashion. So you can check out Liberty Jane's past designs.

Thanks so much! I found some cute things that will hopefully placate Vivi. (By the way, quite a bit of clothing inspiration came from your fashion design contest blog!)
