In the interest of being more silly and posting more stuff more often, I am starting my KPop Educational Campaign. It will show up on Sundays.
Goal One: Show the World more KPop. Which apparently you people like.
See PSY's "Gangnam Style."
Goal Two: Gawk at KPop clothing.
If you want good examples of crazy street style -- KPop and JPop music videos are the way to go for your fashion research.
Example One for your viewing pleasure: SHINee's "Lucifer."
SHINee is one of the top South Korean boy bands, and they are well-known for their fashion style.
It is often "unique" to say the least.
You might be saying "Hey! Why are you showing us boy clothing!?!"
Well, in the world of KPop the line between girl band clothes and boy band clothes -- well, besides skirts for girls and occasional shirtlessness for boys -- is often blurred.
KPop boys tend to wear some girly clothing.
Yes, I said it.
They still look good.
But just because they are boys doesn't mean you can't steal design ideas from them.
I mean I want a pair of every one of their knee-high boots in this video.....
"Lucifer" wasn't SHINee's first big hit, but it is one of their more eye-popping videos.
Check out these outfits people!
Never mind that floaty, Star Trek swirly light that is kinda trippy....
Warning: Don't watch this video if you are allergic to synchronized dancing.
Or funky hairstyles. Or men wearing a lot of makeup. Heehee.
Factoid for you: SHINee member Choi Min Ho starred in 2012's Kdrama "To The Beautiful You" (that title probably sounds better in Korean) -- a Korean version of the Japanese drama legend "Hana Kimi." If you are looking for time-wasting fun -- both of these shows are available to watch online for free. This is our favorite viewing site: http://www.dramacrazy.net/ All the shows are subtitled in English for those of who don't know all of the Asian languages.... or any Asian language...
Now please, go back to enjoying those TWO! fur-backed vests... or that back-less butcher's apron with attached diaper skirt that Kim Jong Hyun is wearing....
