We are personally waiting to get the historical outfits in a later order. For now we just ordered Kanani, her seal, and her outfits, as well as the mini Samantha doll in her holiday dress and the mini doll shelf. When we put all of Kanani's stuff in the basket it really didn't seem like that much stuff. True, we have yet to order the chair set and shave ice stand... but still, there really isn't that much stuff in her collection. Maybe she will get more later... *Fingers crossed*
Did anybody else make a midnight CST order from American Girl??? What did you order?

We're totally planning to order her!! Once I, Rachel Noel, gets all the stuff finished to list in the up-coming Etsy shop, we should have enough money to get her Starter Collection! I'm pretty "ga-ga" over her & her entire collection:) Like you guys, I've pretty much got Nicki, Chrissa, & Lanie entire collections in he past by the end of the year(If you were wondering, I have each of those dolls, but I skipped Mia for certain reasons) Anyway, I love everything that is included in herb starter collection! In your poll, I voted doggie, because of course I love Kanani, but Barksee is too cute!! LOL

Haha, side notes from Emmie!! LOL My(Emmie's) thoughts of the rest of the new shiny things: 1.) The new holiday mini dolls: Sad, but true, I already have the tiny Samantha original, so Rachel Noel won't be ordering the holiday version of her;) We also don't plan on collecting them;) I'll probably get to pick up a few along the way in 2011, but Rachel Noel & I can see ourselves collecting them!!(Neat that you guys are though!) New Historical Outfits: Love some of them!! My personal favorite must go to Rebecca's Lace Dress! Rachel Noel couldn't re-create it, & it's overall the best!! Which new outfit is you guy's favorite? Lastly, The new MYAG Outfits: Love all of it!! Especially that Breakfast in Bed Set!! Genius!! Also love the Sweetheart PJ's, plus they're modeled on none other than, me;)

Happy New Year, Nora! :) I'm really excited about all of the special edition mini dolls. I'd like to order one or two this year, if it works out. :) Congrats on getting Kanani and her outfits. I can't wait to see pics!
We like the Breakfast in Bed set too-- that is on a future list. The mini syrup container is hilariously cute! Definitely a must-have.
The heart pajamas are cool and we like the sweater bootie slippers-- but the pink-ness is a bit off-putting. :(
We only started collecting the GOTYs with Jess... but we really enjoy doing it-- never got Lindsey, Kailey, Nicki or Marisol though... but we will keep buying them in the future. It is nice to have a modern girl with the storyline.
As far as the new historical outfits, we like most of them actually. There is definitely a lot of win going on there. And not a lot of pink! Though it is difficult to pick a fav... we'll have to think about that.

Oh and yes- definitely the limited edition mini dolls were a brilliant idea. Kudos to AG... though it is rather inconvenient to have 2 of all them if you wanted to have both outfits...
haha, yup!! But you can use the pink as an excuse for Valentine's Day!! The GOTY's are all awesome! I(Rachel Noel) have all the GOTY dolls 2007-2010, except Mia, about to get Kanani, so then I can say GOTY's, years 2007-2011, except Mia;) LOL Yes, the historical shiny things are totally worth getting!! Can't wait to know you guy's favorite!! haha;) All us girlies at Emmie's Edition love the limited edition mini's! Sad, but true, if you have the mini already, what's the point of getting her again, just in a different outfit?? But of course, we just have Sammy & Elizabeth, so there's still others to be bought!!

Aren't they selling mini Nellie as well? My favorite new thing is the breakfast in bed tray. All the cute foods on it as well! Kit's new summer dress would have to be my favorite, because she looks so sweet in it.
They are selling mini Nellie in her meet outfit. But not a limited edition Nellie in her holiday outfit. We think the mini Nellie doll was always available for purchase. Despite the archival they keep selling mini Sam and Nellie and their books.
OK, I'm going to go against popular sentiment, but I'm holding out for the next historical doll (my favs) ... and keeping my fingers crossed that AG will some day come out with a 50's style doll. Being a 50's gal myself, I'd love to make some doll clothes using my old school photos for design inspiration! lol
We didn't do a midnight order, but held out until yesterday so that my daughter could go through the new items in a more thoughtful way.
She chose Kanani's Shave Ice Stand with some of her Christmas money, and put Kanani's Aloha Outfit, Rebecca's Lace Dress and the Breakfast in Bed set on her birthday list. They're all on the way.
I still can't warm up to Kanani herself. She just looks...off to me somehow. I saw a picture of her next to Jess (who I adore) and Kanani just doesn't have Jess' charm somehow. I think it's Jess' big brown eyes that make her so appealing.
We're all drawn to different features, but I was disappointed that I didn't like Kanani more than I do. I like the idea of her better than the physical reality of her.
The idea of a Hawaiian doll is rather exciting... maybe Kanani could never really live up to what we all dreamed up in our heads. ;)
We do kind of hope AG takes the medium-skinned Jess mold and uses it for new MyAG dolls in the future.
