Hola! Well by now we usually have more entries for our Activities in the Photo Contest. :-(
So we figured that the logical correlation would be that we announced the runner-up prizes and they weren't made of enough awesome for some of our participants and they decided to drop out of the race, so-to-speak. That is our conclusion anyway. :-/
Perhaps people were tired of the contest or got busy with summer-ish stuff. Who knows? Any ideas? We only have about 1/2 of the normal number of entries.... so if we are doing something wrong - let us know. We can make the next contest better if we know how to fix it. :-)
To try and solve the issue of the moment we decided to spice up the runner-up prizes for y'all to see if that helps inspire interest. So we are now adding three American Girl gift certificates into the prizes grab-bag for the 3 runner-up people. So if they want they can buy something asap or perhaps use the gift certificate as part of a payment on a doll or save it for something fun. Up to you!
Also, in order to perhaps get a few more entries in we are extending the due date for Activity Three until Friday July 1st. Hopefully that helps a little, since we know June can be busy. Heck, any month is busy!

You are doing great with the contest- I don't think it was anything on your end! This round was a bit more difficult to come up with ideas, and I'm sure people also got busy with summer stuff. Thanks for doing the contest!
We entered last night! Before the A.G. gift certificates were added, the prizes were great, they are just better now! LOL More people will enter now I think because I guess not all peoples like sandals and LJC, and you can buy some of the newly released A.G. goodies with the gift certificates maybe?(We like LJC and sandal but dunno about other peeps;) Anyway, we hope you guys get more entries and you guys can do the big post of all the photos soon!
P.S. Ummmm… how much are the value of the gift certificates going to be? Slightly curious….;D
Value of the gift certificates... good question....hmm, not sure yet -- somewhere around 20 bucks probably... something enticing hopefully... we'll figure it out when we go to place our next AG order. ;)
Hi Nora! I think the contest has been wonderful! I agree with the others...I don't think the lack of entrants has anything to do with you. Hopefully this will draw more people, though. I think the gift certificates are a great idea! :)

Wow, great add with the gift certificates! I think peeps are just in to the swing of summer now. And it is a like trickier. Hopefully people are working hard to come up with a good original idea and not copying that idea from round one like they did in round two.

The topic is tricky, summer is busy, and I feel little hope that my picture will win #1 in any given round, so I won't even get to the final round that actually has prizes.
I think this round was a little trickier and people are probably just in summer mode. I thought the prizes sounded pretty fun! I mean, I'm not even entering hoping or expecting to win because I'm still learning about photography... I'm just trying to have fun and become better at the pic taking. You're doing a great job with the contest!

I might do this but i don't know, I've been kinda busy and really lazy lately but a gift certificate is a great incentive. I'm just fumbling over the fashion theme- I never really was great at "fashion" things besides wearing cute stuff! Also, I never did round two and I really want to change my doll! I won't though ;)

Thanks for your comments everyone - they are very helpful! Seems like most people are still interested in the contest...perhaps summer is just not the right time for a big photo contest and maybe the categories need to be less difficult...

Hey Nora, I had an idea for your next photo contest. I don't know about the other entrants, but I would love to see a list of which photos made it into the top 20% for each round. You wouldn't have to share the number of votes for each, but I think it would be encouraging to those who made the top 20%. That would also give the other entrants an idea of what the voters liked and what they were looking for. Without knowing everyone who made it, it's kind of hard to know which direction to take for the next round. Just a thought, since you were asking for suggestions. :)
