Disney Channel Fashion: Ally of
"Austin and Ally" Part One

If you are like us, you still have one more week of summer before school starts again.

And if you are like us, you are enjoying your final moments of summer by
watching the Disney Channel non-stop.

What?
It's one of the beauties of kid summers.
Sit on yer duff for days on end watching TV. ;-)

So we are a little behind the times, as we don't normally watch the DC during the school year. We didn't know about this show: "Austin & Ally." But now we do. It is the same formulaic farce that Disney offers with bad jokes that sometimes make you laugh, and a general happy-go-lucky feel to it. Perfect stuff for your brain during summer, haha.

Austin (the blonde kid) sings and plays music.
Ally writes that music. Her Dad owns a music shop down in Miami.
And that is pretty much it.
These four friends seen below get into various adventures.

I think they are teenagers, but we've never seen them in school.
They just hang around the mall all day like they are in a perpetual summer...
Not bad. Not bad.

Anyways.......

Ally is the one seated on the edge of the couch.
Brown and tan plaid, sleeveless shirt, layered over a bright yellow dress and
cinched with a leather belt.
Boots and socks on her feeties.

We watched like 5 of these A&A shows in a row and got an idea.

"Why don't we talk about Disney Channel Fashion?"

So today we look at Ally, who is labeled as a "Boho Brights" kind of girl and
definitely has a "uniform."

Vest. Tee shirt or tank top. Shortish skirt. Belt. Boots or booties. Dramatic necklaces.

Overall we are impressed with the use of layering, and the mixture of colors, patterns, and textures. Ally normally looks both dressed up and casual simultaneously.

Note the boot socks featured here, a winter 2011 trend that persists.
If you have doll (or human) boots that won't fit on the doll (or human) with socks underneath them, you can craft fake sock tops out of old socks or sleeves.

For dolls you can use baby socks from Target, Walmart, Kmart, etc. or from a local thrift shoppe.
We should probably do this ourselves and show you how... now that I think about it....

Anyway back to inspirations from Ally...

Vests and tops with studs, sequins and glitter are in.
Studs in general are something to think about.
