Melody Valerie Blue Skies

The new summer line was released about 15 mins ago... and I think it will be sold out asap. MVC is getting to be very popular and people are willing to pay for the quality. We managed to snag one of each dress, but kind of barely we think. Haha. It was a frenzy.

So we thought that given the name "Blue Skies" that the dresses might be blue.... turns out that was correct... so with blue being our fav color... it didn't take much to twist our arm to get these.

We absolutely love the outdoor photo shoot this time around. We barely manage to get outside to take pics here. So these are super-awesome!

ETA: About an hour after release, two un-reserved dresses are still available in the shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MelodyValerie ....one UltraMarine and one Daydream, the last and first pics in this post.

Awesome! We snagged UltraMarine!(We purely went off looks!) We got the *very first* one at $70, and we've just watched the price go up from there!(LOL) We are so happy to be receiving it soon and it being our first, we will enjoy it thoroughly!! Can't wait to see it reviewed and shown on one of your girlies here!

Yay! We're so happy when our readers get some MVC for themselves! UltraMarine looks super-lovely. You made a good choice!

Thank You! We too are in love with blue and it was kind of a half shock when ALL 4 of the dresses were blue!(LOL) We can't wait until ours arrives!!

I snagged "Daydream". I wanted "Ulta Marine" first but then changed my mind. "Daydream" better suits my Nicki. Lovely collection - surprised by all the blues and the pricing towards the end. Prices are up from the spring along with shipping ($1 more)

Congrats on Daydream! We love the bodice ruching on that one and the ruffles. Yay for blues!

Yeah, the prices are jumping up quite a bit. Not really happy about that. We spent $46 more on this line than the spring line we bought just two and a half months ago. :(

We guess the days of buying all four dresses from the collections are coming to an end. :'(

Congrats on your new dresses! :) My personal favorite was Daydream, but the price is going up so much.

It's funny, really, because when I bought my Tropical Sunshine dress in spring 2010, it was $54 spent in total for me. Now I can't really afford the dresses, but it's fun to see their adorable designs. :)

Man, for some reason I am in a chatty mood today -- haha. Must be the pent-up energy from expecting new MVC stuff to be released. Heehee.

Yeah, if I was coming into the MVC shop to buy one dress today the $80 price for Daydream would kind of take my breath away.

Tropical Sunshine was/is awesome. It is worth it to get at least one MVC for a collection, since as you say the designs are adorable. So glad you got one back in 2010 Claire!

I have a dress from the Fall 2008 collection that my dolls never wear. It's still brand new in box. I tried to sell it but no takers. I'm not sure how well her stuff re-sells if you have to sell it. I do have two other pieces from her (one I bought today). It's amazing how the prices and demand (once they're listed for sale) have gone up.

Congrats on today's purchase Anonymous!

Hmm, bizarre that the MVC Fall 2008 dress won't sell. If you list it on Ebay, let us know and we will tell people about it here on the blog. We have no problem advertising it for you.

Yeah, we never thought about re-selling anything. But you never know what the re-sale value will be. :/ It's not like AG clothing and items where people specifically go to Ebay to find that retired whatever-ma-jig-thing. Haha.

We think we were one of the first Etsy customers of MVC back in 2008, if not the first - with the Joie de Vivre dress. That was $25 plus $5 shipping. I knew it was a steal back then, but oh man do we know it now for sure. ;)

Oh, and, I know this is off-topic, but could you add my Etsy to your list, please?

I love a lot of MV's designs, but they're out of my price range. And they're usually all sold by the time I realize new ones have been released anyways, lol. Congrats on your new dresses! I'll still have to think of her things as "someday maybe..."

Wow! $25 for MV! Crazy! I'd love to buy some MV from 2008! The anonymous who said that needs to re-list and we will surely bid!(Wish we would have known before!) Especially since it's still new in package!

If anyone is interested in that dress from 2008, I have it listed for sale on American Girl Playthings. I believe I'm selling it for what I paid, maybe less.

If only I had known before... :( I JUST checked when I saw the title, and was EXTREMELY dissapointed, because 1) Blue is my FAVOURITE colour. 2) I kind of have a "thing" for the nautical look. :) I'm really sad I didn't get one, but it's just as well, considering I only have $16... :(
