FDC In-Progress Shots Examples

Hola!

Just a reminder -- the first design idea images for the Fashion Design Challenge are due
this Friday, September 7th.

Go here for more info on this contest:

We have just a few entries -- so chances of winning are pretty high -- especially since there are two categories of entrants, newbies and pros.

So both hobbyists and sellers are welcome!!!

Today we are going to share with you some more outfit "in-progress" shots courtesy of
Melody Valerie Couture.

You can see more of this info from MVC's blog, for example on their customs page: http://melodyvalerie.wordpress.com/custom-2/

These are MVC's in-progress shots for our Today's Fairytales dress.

Fabrics and trim.

Construction.

The dress design is based upon this "idea" shot of a human dress:

Also, we have custom-ordered several 1950s dresses from MVC.
Here are some in-progress shots for our Sapphire dress.

Deciding the ribbon accent placement.

Studying the back.

This was also based upon human clothing, a red 1950s dress.

And this custom middy dress isn't ours, but it is also based upon human clothing from a ye olde photograph. You can see the in-progress shots:

And then the finished product:

Hopefully this helps you guys define what types of images to submit for the contest.

Words from Melody Valerie Couture: "I usually try to communicate something with in-progress shots, be it 'yes, something is happening with your dress' or more specifically, 'here's what the trim will look like, this is your chance to speak up if you don't like it!' Mockups would also count in my book as 'in progress'; they're meant to show the final shape and design lines."

Thanks MVC for letting us share your pics here!

Thanks for visiting us today readers!
