Opinions of Cecile and Marie-Grace Items, Part One

Yeah, we know we are a bit behind the times. But since we were on that trip when the "pre-ordering" fiesta happened, we really didn't get to post a lot on Cecile and Marie-Grace, the two new historical dolls from AG. So we thought we'd do a round-up of our thoughts.

We were a lot more excited about the 1850s historical period than the 1914 time period (Rebecca) which we don't tend to be drawn to fashion-wise. Though we do have many of R's items. But 1850s sounded cool and anything having to do with New Orleans has our interest. (Blame Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles for that.... yeah not like a real history class or anything, sorry! Haha.)

But nope we haven't pre-ordered any of the items yet. :-( We still have a huge wishlist of other AG things and we know the holiday stuff will hit the stores/site soon. We always try to be prepared for that, because the holiday items do tend to sell out. Also, in our fantasy world we will be buying another Kanani (to customize) and Addy before the end of the year. So C and M-G are going to have to wait a bit.

We do plan on getting Cecile some day, especially since MyAG #46 was on our wishlist. Now she has been bumped off the list and been replaced by Cecile. Just don't tell her that...

Marie-Grace looks a lot like Elizabeth to us, and we aren't sure we like her new face mold yet. Perhaps we will get used to it.

Anyways, here are our thoughts... Part One (more parts to come since we didn't want to overwhelm one post with 3,000 pics)....

Cecile = ♥♥♥ We are both surprised and happy that AG made this doll. Surprised because AG does not often make the doll we have in our heads. (For instance, a hazel-eyed Kanani? We thought she'd have brown eyes for sure.)

Cecile has a very unique look to her and we love everything about her. Plus her meet outfit is blue. It's like they knew that is our fav color. But she will probably have to be like our Arista -- i.e. we avoid touching her hair at all, haha.

Her accessories are awesome and useful... and we love the hat so much we put in two photos of it....

So far, to us, Marie-Grace is not what we were hoping for. She may grow on us. Maybe once we see more pics of her outside of that (horrid, sorry folks) pink dress.

Could this dress be any pinker?

Also, her hair seems to be a different color in every outfit she wears and from photo to photo... so we'll be interested in seeing that in person. Perhaps we can make it to an AG store at some point....

Marie-Grace's accessories are a pass for us. Nothing really unique or remarkable going on there. White hat, pink ribbon. Woo. Handfan. Got it. Gold locket necklace. Yep, got it. Several in fact...

Doggie for the win!

Argos is awesome. He is on our wishlist, despite looking a bit startled and Mad Cowish in the AG photos.... it's like he just heard someone open a bag of Snausages....

And of course on the matter of pets... Cecile's parrot set has been requested by Madame Maple. She wants a pirate parrot and the tiny magnifying glass for her treasure hunting adventures. I explained that we already have a tiny metal magnifying glass and that we already took all the photos of the treasure hunt. That didn't deter her. She still wants them. And I must admit, the parrot and cage are pretty awesome.

AG should just stop avoiding the obvious and just make a pirate set.... though it would probably be all made out of plastic.... probably just a better idea to put one together ourselves....

p.s. Maple has already named her parrot (not yet purchased). He will be called Zeebubbles.

Stay tuned for another thrilling post on our thoughts on the C and M-G items in the future....

And of course another post on Maple's Pirate Treasure Hunt!

Instead of calling her "Madame Maple", you should call her CAPTAIN Maple! :)
