Reader Submission #61
For Our Doll Giveaway Contest!

Mia is my favorite doll because she's really adventurous. It may be strange to attribute that sort of character to a doll but she was damaged when I tried my hand at being a doll fashion designer (silly human!) Mia took it in stride! Even though she has dye transfer all over her body and vinyl she's still so fabulous! The damage hasn't diminish her "doll spirit" - she's still ready for the next adventure!

This is her favorite outfit because Mia likes bright exciting colors! She's really feminine but very active and she HATES to compromise. So in this outfit she can be girly bright, but also climb trees and skateboard all while protecting her dolly modesty!

In my trends to sew I chose an cute Lucky brand outfit.

Its all about the detailing -this bright shade of orange/coral denim shorts is a little stretchy but also low rise and comfy. Frayed edges add a finishing touch.

The eggplant shirt is in that super thin cotton knit/stretch t-shirty material; It's more stylish than a tank but soo cool for summer! The button detailing on the top shoulder would make it easer to put on the doll (no evil velcro). The buttons are also a fun detail. But the most important part is to get the scoopneck cut right. this is a loose-fit top, rounded bottom and curves in at the waist. So many different details might be a more work for the human, but would be so much more Fabulous for the doll!

I added in this other dress as part of the trends to sew because well people might think shorts and shirts are just for tomboys (and the shorts & t's pic might not be clear enough). This dress is so lovely and sparkly and fairy tale. Yet with some shimmery material or glitter and organza - a skilled seamstress (ie. anyone but me) could easily whip up this enchanting confection. The basic lines are very simple (layering the tulle/organza for just the right opacity might require some clever consideration though. ;) )
