Maple's How Trendy is Your Doll?
Off-The-Shoulder Top Challenge

Yo, peeps.
Maple, here. Long time no harass. ;-)

If you aren't familiar with me, I am the resident PITB.
(Pain in the Butt.)

Last time I talked about Trends to Sew was
a post about our TtS Pinterest Board:

Which generated ZERO comments.
Glad you were reading. (That's sarcasm.)

And before that I critiqued the MyAG Sweet Spring Dress:

Which elicited a reaction from some readers bordering on cray cray.
It's as if I insulted their first-born or something.

It's a dress people.
No need to grab the red telephone.

(If you don't know what the red telephone is:
If you don't know what a telephone is, I can't help you.)

If my posts manage to tick people off,
I feel I am doing something right.
GO! ME!

(And I still think the Saccharine Tinkle Dress is a drag, btw.
If you wanna fight it out, see me after school in the Jimmy John's parking lot.
Just a word of warning, I have a mean roundhouse kick.)

Also, see that post for some great (in my opinion) examples of Trends to Sew --
crochet and lace-accented dresses and girly styles.

For today's post I start a new series:

Maple's How Trendy is Your Doll?

That annoying girl of the year, Saige, has cloned herself here in Badger's Wood at
The DW Headquarters and Lil' Miss Saige 2.0, i.e. Columbia Easton,
keeps showing up here on the blog instead of me.

What the?
Oh well.
I will use her to my own ends.

Today's Trend to Sew is Off-The-Shoulder Tops.

We custom-ordered this blue baby from Royal Doll Boutique on Etsy.

The white tunic is also from Royal Doll Boutique.
The yellow shorts are from Liberty Jane Clothing.
The purse is from Fox and Family.

You may be saying, "Off-The-Shoulder Tops? That's sooo 2011!"
Not so.
They are still "in," as are cut-out or cold shoulder tops, and
boxy, drapey tops that are great for layering.

From Forever21:

Maple - it is so good to see you again! Now if I could finally get my sewing machine fixed, come up with a few spare hours a day, and put down the crochet hook (my latest obsession), I would totally enter. Seeing as my magic wand is in the shop, I will just have to look forward to what everyone sends in... it is a cute style.

Ah, crocheting. And knitting. They are very 'in' right now, too!

Have you been sharing your creations on Doll Diaries?

There are so many fun things to make for the dolls, too! I shared my first hair bow: http://dolldiaries.com/my-first-crocheted-doll-hair-bow/

Now I am trying to decide what I can make from the Nicky Epstein book. I will definitely show whatever I complete.
