The review of Nicky Epstein's knitting book for 18" dolls made me want to see the book for myself. The review had so many pictures, I already know it is a beautiful book. Given Ms. Epstein's resume, it seems likely that the patterns are well-designed, but I wish the review had also described the knitting instructions. Were they well-written and easy to follow? Were they primarily for advanced knitters? Still, I am intrigued.
Yes - you can enter if you live in the UK. :-)
@Carol Raab-- Carol, I own Nikki Epstein's book.
Some patterns are more complicated than others, ranging from Intermediate to Advanced. It did not look to me like this was a book for absolute beginners, by the which I mean someone who just learned to knit and hasn't completed anything more complicated than a scarf. If, however, you've knit other things before like socks, hats, mittens, sweaters, etc, you should be fine.
The instructions are clearly written and make sense to me. I haven't tried to knit anything from it yet, (have to buy yarn) but I'm not running across any instructions I don't understand whenever I read the patterns.
Basically, as long as you can read and follow a knitting pattern, you will be fine with this book.
